High ceilings, large two-room suites. Like the desolate surroundings and the rest of the city, the place had an empty feel even though a major conference was underway. It might take twenty minutes or so to walk to the next building over. Aiming to impress with size and spaciousness, the designers may have done better to focus on quality of construction and materials; a shoddy looking window here, some non-functioning plumbing there. Breakfast buffet was adequate--Burmese noodles and congee were good. Most convenient feature was the Skype-ready laptop for loan at the front desk. Staff seemed thrilled to have guests and tried to please.
