I stayed for three nights (14-17 April 2019).|While writing this review, I am spending my last night at this Kumudra Hill - Mountain View hotel without running water at my bathroom’s tap because of the hotel’s main water tank is empty. I couldn’t even flush my toilet. That’s my main problem. Some more? |The air-con is dripping drops of water and my luggages are wet when i noticed that. Hsipaw town is the warmest place in the shan plateau and functional air-con is necessary for good night sleep. My room, No.5 ground floor, has an air-con which is critically needs servicing. |The in-room provided kettle has many rubbishes and spider web to clean before using it. |The hotel has a swimming pool which is good looking but there is no swimming etiquette or swim suit policy. Many people jumping in with casual clothings like washing their cloths in the swimming pool. |The hotel has three floors, uppermost is the restaurant, the middle floor is meant for the foreigners especially for the westerners. If you are planning to stay at this hotel, be prepare to claim your room on that middle floor because it can see both sunset and sunrise view of the Hsipaw mountains. The lowest floor which is meant for the asians and locals can only see the sunrise view.|Breakfast is simple bread and butter with coffee and fruit juice. If you need special request for breakfast make a prior order before sleep and it will be ready in the morning. |I regret that i saw some new hotels in the downtown and made a wrong choice. But Hsipaw town has many great scenery and these beautiful environs will be able...
Read moreSo after a hike with Mr bike (which was awesome) we decided we needed to treat ourself by staying in Kumundra mountain view hotel.
And it was perfect, not knowing they had transfer, we came by tuktuk. The building is beautiful, we were promoted to a deluxe room which was bigger than our living room at home. The view of the room was incredible
It was not really busy at the hotel so first we decided to eat in the town. But then we read the reviews of the restaurant that everything is homemade. So we decided to eat at the rooftop bar with the view.
And the food was really good. No classic burmees food but Asian fusion and western. But indeed all homemade and full of flavor.
Breakfast was good! (Only missed the juice) home made bread, great yoghurt and home made passion fruit jam!
We are going to spend a day at the pool and in the rooftop Jacuzzi.
It's really worth the money, the Frence owner is really nice and supports the relatively poor neighborhood by employing them and using...
Read moreAfter living a year and a half in Myanmar, discovering Kumudra Hill was a wonderful surprise! This boutique hotel is chic, clean and comfortable (and cheap!!). Each room is uniquely designed and furnished to fit the double windows that look out over the misty valley and swimming pool. The breakfast (home-made yoghurt, fresh bread, jam and eggs) is delicious. There is a rooftop jacuzzi (unheard of luxury in Myanmar!), that the staff fill upon request. The guest relations manager, Kham, is always there to arrange treks, advise on tours, take you out for the best coffee in town, translate where needed, or jam with his guitar- he made my stay carefree and easy. I returned twice to this hotel in a month (staying 10 days in total, once alone, once in couple), and must say its the best I've seen in Myanmar. Highly recommend for longer stays or simply weekend getaways...
