Hotel Suggati — Hotel in Mawlamyine District

Good thing first. Hotel is clean, very modern, decoration is excellent, and it is outstanding in the city. I can say the best hotel for the foreigner. A little bit pricey in Mawlamyine but it would be fine as you don't have many choices. Now the bad thing. Staffs are not friendly except the only one lady in the restaurant according to our experience. First thing, there is no door opening or greeting on the entrance of guests at anytime. Not only to us but also to others. As I am Myanmar, the staffs treat me differently. What i mean is both not being friendly and speak nicely. Why? One bad experience occured to me on the fullmoon day of Tazaungdine (11/Nov/2019). My car was parked in the north parking lot where only 4 cars can be parked in that lot on the night before the incident happened. On 11th Nov, i have a ceremony to attend at 8.30 in the morning on the other side of the town. I came down to have breakfast before 7.00 but to keep some bags in the car before. I found out there were 2 cars blocking my car. So, i informed the security to contact those cars owner in order to move out of the way on time as i would leave the hotel at 7.30. After my breakfast at 7.30, no action taken. My guests were ready to leave the hotel as well. I informed reception, receptionist took no action. Security said "it wasn't my shift last night when those cars blocked". Security told receptionist to check with each room guest. The receptionist said "i cannot do that as this would disturb the guests". I fully understand the situation. Then i asked the receptionist that if I have to wait all the guests get up and move my car out. Then, receptionist called SOME of the rooms to check. Then she called the night shift security and asked which he also did not know whose car are those. The receptionist say "guests are angry now coz his car can't be moved". I think she doesn't need to mention that guest is angry or not. Then the clock hit 8.00. Nothing happened. I had to take another car from acquaintance to the ceremony that i was attending. The receptionist say only she was sorry about 1 to 2 times but took no real action. I was very very disappointed. They should have solution. If i were receptionist, i would call all room even though it is disturbing guests, but do i have any other choices? Last but not least, i turned on DO NOT DISTURB when i went out that day. I came back and saw the bed was made. What does it mean? Why does House Keeping came into my room while DND lights on. Service is most important in hospitality industry. Amenities, decoration, hotel facilities comes after that. I wasn't fine with their service at all. Really...

This is a very modern hotel which feels brand new. Nice size rooms with effective air con. Good size comfortable beds and river view for a small supplement. It's all on their website, part of the'Memories' local chain of good hotels in Myamar.||Great staff, smiley and very keen. This is a true western 4 star standard and fairly priced too.||The breakfast is good, individual service if hotel quiet, or buffet when busy.||The restaurant is good for lunch or dinner, probably the best in town.Good choice of wines, well kept, and at fair price. And top hygiene standards. You might find cheaper food elsewhere but remember that this town does not necessarily have a clean water supply. ||Unfortunately no swimming pool, which is a great pity.||||Suggestion to management. I would 'brand' name your restaurant. If you could get the restaurant separately listed on Tripadvisor it would soon go up the restaurant ratings and bring in more business. It deserves...

Hotel Suggati is one of the newest hotels in Mawlamyine. Rooms are spacious enough and many have river view balconies from which you can enjoy the sunset. Rooms itself are equipped with everything you need. AC is a bit week but still sufficient. The shower (water pressure and temperature) is among the best I had in Southern Myanmar where a decent shower often is a bit of a problem. Staff is friendly and helpful and breakfast was also among the best I enjoyed in Southern Myanmar. Fresh products with very good quality, usually buffet style or a la carte if there are not many guests. Only disadvantage maybe that it is a bit distant from most of the sights in Malamyine yet as I was traveling with a driver, this was not a real problem to me. I...
