I recommend staying here!!||We were happy and well taken care of from the moment we walked in until the moment we left this guest house. Unlike some of the other comments I've read, everything was really clean! We had booked a double room, but I guess there were none remaining, so the man at the desk made sure we didn't mind staying in a triple room. It was, of course, no problem. We had a little trouble finding the place, because it's location on Google maps was incorrect, though this isn't the fault of the guest house. All the locals were quite helpful in pointing the correct direction for us, though! The beds were a little firm, but this is Southeast Asia, and they could've been much less comfortable. We both slept well! There was a fridge and a flat screen tv in the room, as well as a small balcony (but only a view of the building next door). The tv only received local channels (that was no problem). We had to move the fridge, because the electric outlet it was next to did not function well, but once moved we had a cold refrigerator. The bathroom was clean. There was a cold water shower, but also a hot water faucet and a bucket and scoop so a hot bucket bath was possible (and felt amazing after 1.5 months of no hot water). The staff was really friendly and more than helpful. Thanks Pann Su Wai!!||One final thought. The wifi in the rooms (or at least in the triple room just above the 2nd floor) was not working. The wifi in the...
Read moreI guess there is a wide variety of rooms and cleaning habits here 'cause so many good reviews about this place. My experience was totally diffrent. ||There is not actually working wi-fi. It works really really slowly if it works at all in the reception area.||Room no. 1 they offered:||Otherwise okeyish, but dirty carpet flooring, no working fan or properly working a/c and extremely noisy, I guess it's on the road side. Changed this to room downstares.||Room no. 2:||Our room smelled moulded, well that's normal in concrete buildings here. ||Room was dirty. Spider webs everywhere, discusting carpet flooring which was not clean. Had to leave shoes outside the room just to walk barefooded on a dirty carpet. Bathrooms fausets leeked, all three of them so the floor was wet all the time. ||There is a normal cold shower and a hot bucket shower (mix the water from two taps). It would be fine if the bucket wasn't slimy, seems like it haven't been cleaned for a while.||High seilign but there is open holes, don't know if there is actually mos nets, but we had mosquitos so bring your own Baygon.||We were too tired to look for another guesthouse so we stayed in this dungeon.||Not a great deal compared to the price...
Read moreIt's not often that I give a 5 star rating on any review, but Pann Su Wai is deserving of just that. ||We have spent the past 3 days here in Myalamwine, and luckily for us, this particular guest house manager was not only one of the friendliest Burmese men we've met, but he took the time to give us directions, several maps, and he even took us on an all day tour of the surrounding area during his own holiday time. ||Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Fast Wifi in southern Burma in general is hard to come by, so the Internet here is a bit slow. That definitely shouldn't sway you from staying otherwise. ||We also walked in off the street, and booked an AC, queen sized bed/private bathroom room for 18,000KP/night. ||Great value for what this wonderful little town has to offer. I can see why so many travel sites have listed Myalamwine as their favourite spot in Burma. It's alluring charm, George Orwell history, and run down British Colonial buildings will have you feeling like you've stepped back in to the first half of the 20th...
