Visited Mt.Popa as part of a checklist with my friends and decided to stay in Popa Garden Resort for 2 days. Beautiful hotel ran by an amazing crew and manager. Friendly service, spacious rooms and amazing view. Hotel rests at the foot of mt popa and that gives you the best view if you ask me. I could see the whole mountain from anywhere at the hotel. We decided to do the trekking activity plan offered by the hotel and they dropped us off in an old rebuilt Chevy which was pretty cool. Food was amazing and it was nice to try some of theiir experimental dishes. Ask for the Thai basil spaghetti if they still have it. That sh*t smacks. That was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. A mix of Thai and Italian.
Breakfast buffet wasn’t available that day but they made up for it with daung lan breakfast which was even better and such a nice surprise. Big portions and when I say food was amazing believe me I’ve been to my fair share of restaurants in many countries and this ranks at the top 10.
I spent the second day chilling in the pool and snacking at the pool bar enjoying the view from there. My stay here would be the highlight of my vacation. I’m so happy I decided to make this trip with my friends. Went back home feeling totally rested...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Popa Guarden Resort. Overall, I was very impressed with this resort and would highly recommend it to other travelers looking for accommodation near Mount Popa.
Location: The location of Popa Guarden Resort could not be better - it's situated right at the foot of Mount Popa, providing stunning views of the mountain from the property. It's also just a short 10-15 minute drive from the main town making it easily accessible.
Accommodations: The rooms at Popa Guarden are spacious, clean and tastefully furnished with traditional Burmese design elements. I stayed in a deluxe room which had a very comfortable king-sized bed, a sitting area, and a balcony overlooking the lush gardens. The bathroom was modern with great water pressure in the shower.
Amenities: For a resort in such a remote location, the amenities were quite good. There is an outdoor pool which is perfect for relaxing after a day of temple hopping. The restaurant serves up delicious Burmese and Western cuisine. The spa offers a wide range of treatments including traditional massages. There is also a fitness center, library, and free wifi...
Read moreThe resort is very easy to find and conveniently located at the base of Mount Popa. One can get a perfect view of both Taung Kalat and Taung Ma Gyi from every corner of the resort. The room was well-designed to be both spacious and comfy. There were plenty of storage space and international sockets which was a big plus. The garden and the pool were always well-kept and spotless during our 3-day stay. ||The service we got was extremely professional from booking to check-out. Every staff we met was welcoming, efficient, and always seemed to know how to assist us before we even said anything. It felt like a 5-star hotel service! ||The restaurant offers us a few choices of traditional rice salads for breakfast, which also came with several side dishes. Other dishes in the a la carte menu were also delicious and reasonably priced.||Another gem of the resort was the massage service. The therapist was very experienced and, unlike at most other resorts, it was very affordable. I had foot massage twice during the stay and it was one of the best foot massages I have had in my life.||Overall, perfect stay and would...
