Royal Green Hotel — Hotel in Pyin Oo Lwin District

The staff were quite friendly, the rooms clean and the breakfast decent, but it was quite hard to get a good sleep with a Burmese guest sat outside our room shouting into his telephone at midnight, not to mention the road traffic is often loud. When it rains there is also a loud clattering on the roof that is liable to wake you up in the middle of the night.|The most disappointing thing was the bus to NyaungShwe they booked for us which was supposedly a 2+1 VIP bus but actually turned out to be a 1+1+1 from a shoddy company called Shan Thit Sar, which stopped every few minutes to pick up people along the roadside. Instead of an entertainment console like most VIP buses we had to listen to Monks chants the whole way|I would recommend going to Mandalay and getting a proper VIP bus. I have no problem with getting local buses but not when we have paid for a VIP bus that lasts 12 hours (instead of the usual 9 - 10) and you have your 70+ year old...

Although cheap by western standards it was the most expensive hotel of my stay in Myanmar so far and I booked it after reading the reviews. I have to say although pleasant enough overall I thought it was disappointing. My bed sheets had small holes in them. The wifi was pretty awful most of the time and little things like pepper pots being empty at the breakfast table let it down. Small hotel with friendly helpful staffs. Tidy small rooms are not silent types and noisy. Prices are acceptable. Foods also not expensive but cold, hard and no fresh. WiFi speed is so slow and can’t use. Have waiting room for early check in visitors. Not offer half day room with extra charges.
