DO NOT STAY HERE
We arrived very late at night and were taken to this hotel by the taxi driver. We were both so exhausted after a night bus we agreed to stay for one night - Our room was broken into during the night WHILE WE WERE SLEEPING. My friends CAMERA (WITH ALL OF OUR PHOTOS FROM OUR TRIP), 500€ in cash, sunglasses and headphones were STOLEN.
The hotel assured us that it had never happened before and that their CCTV system would catch whoever did it. The hotel owner LIED TO US because the cameras had not worked for 2 YEARS, he had NOT informed the police as he had promised and THREATENED us if we took the problem any further.
We were helpless because no locals, including the local Hotel Ministry, were willing to speak out and defend us, against this hotel owner, for fear of the consequences - Complete corruption.
DO NOT RISK IT - we are both very well travelled and this is without a doubt one of the worst situations we have faced while travelling, as sad as it was to lose a considerable amount of cash and a valuable camera and sunglasses, to lose your photos from a trip in such a way was really really awful.
An upsetting and terrible end to what was such a fantastic trip in such an incredibley...

We were travelling with a child and asked for a room with one double bed and a single bed. Despite several requests to be given another room to at least shower, no one bothered getting back to us and we had to do without a shower. The day after they gave us a room with a shower available as our room still had no running water. ||We usually travel on low budget and we are not fussed about hotels but water is definitely something we should have had during our stay...
Read moreGood location- quieter end of town.|Room was the typical Myanmar style- blue rooms and mustard coloured curtains with brown bedding. Clean enough. |Breakfast wasn't great and was slow coming despite the several staff members hanging around. |Bathroom could have done with a proper clean. Shower was hot though.|Rooms weren't cleaned during our three night stay. The outside area leading to our room also wasn't swept during our stay and as such, every time we opened our door, rubbish blew into the room. |We asked if they did laundry and they said no and directed us to somewhere else in town which didn't exist. The next day we witnessed someone asking about laundry and they said they did do it. Not sure if there was a communication misunderstanding when we asked? |For the price ($30 pn) I think there would be better...
