Pekon is a small town at the west bank at Southern Part of Inle Lake. There are hardly any attraction in town. Princess Resort seems to be the only hotel located at this town which is idealistic located facing the Great Lake. The view is breathtaking. The rooms are simple and basic. The dining area provides good view of the Lake. The star of resort is a herd of ducks belonging to hotel owner swimming around the bank of the lake infront of the hotel. Read moreOn the west bank of Moebyel Dam, the hotel is well located. After 5 hours drive from Nay Pyi Taw, we have to rest before entering Loikaw which is one hour drive away. Sitting on one of the chair at the hotel’s restaurant ( which is not in service ), looking through beautiful dam on the background of mountains, we are all refresh. Cold drinks and snacks bought from the town is a must. Hotel is clean, good air-con, hot shower and bathtub. Staffs are nice. No wifi. Enjoyable...

The hotel arranged for us to go for a boatride to the big island where the locals are building some huts for opening guesthouse for tourists. There is no electricity there yet so it might be a very rural experience. Across the hotel is an old monastery where we went to offer donation and pay homage.
