This beautiful Teakwood house was a wonderful place to stay. from my veranda in the third story I overlooked the fields and could see the pagoda spires rising over the woods. As electricity was not always available, not a fault of the owner and staff, I decided to sleep on my wide veranda, which was nice and cool at night, which I prefer to a perfect aircondition.|The breakfast is really a treat - they simply did not stop setting my table with every kind of local food like samosas in addition to the toast and butter and pancakes and papaya, pineapple, watermelon, simply the essence of Myanmar hospitability.||The communication was remarkable. After so many hotels in other places did not bother to answer my emails, I got an answer from friendly Dr. Chan immediately and emailing was swift and easy.||In the end I managed to forget my second passport in the hotel. Dr. Chan did everything to ensure that I got it back here in Yangon before leaving the country. ||This was the most friendly place in my 28 days in Myanmar, and a place which made me realize, what...
Read moreThis was the most beautiful teak house. We had rooms on the first floor with a very large verandah overlooking the rice paddies. The rooms themselves were very large and spacious - lots of very old teak furniture. Electricity was a little intermittent so the air conditioning, fans, lighting went on and off a few times overnight. Hot water was plentiful. Breakfast was the most amazing experience and probably the best we had in Myanmar. We had a choice of 7 or 8 fruits (I believe organically grown), followed by rice cakes (different varieties) samosas and other little tasty things. Staff provided fantastic service - we found that this was the case almost everywhere we went in Myanmar. The view at dusk and at dawn over the paddies, the breakfast, the staff and the amazing teak house certainly make this a place that I would go back to. At $40 per double per night for a very spacious room with a very comfortable bed , it...
Read moreStayed 2 nights in January while touring the area. This guest house is in small sections/bungalows overlooking beautiful countryside. Breakfast included with dozens of homemade items that keep coming and coming....while there is no official restaurant they offer bottles of wine and beer for sale in their reception area and can call local take out places and have someone get you food...so you really don't have to leave the property. Its located down a long dirt road off the main street about 10 minutes by taxi-motor bike from the bus station. They can arrange bus tickets, tours, you name it. My only complaint is that they permit guests to smoke in the breakfast room.....for the price you wont be...
