Power GuestHouse — Hotel in Thandwe District

I stayed 6 nights at Power Guesthouse. Took a small room with fan and shared bathroom for 15k Kyats/Night. Don't book over booking.com if you want the cheapest room.|I arrived late in the evening and Nyan, the manager and chef, welcomed my warmly and cooked dinner just for me. The family-run GH helped my during the whole stay with anything I needed. They can organize bus tickets, boat trips and more.|The room is basic, bed was a bit hard and had no window. But in a relaxing place like Ngapali I had no problem with that.|Breakfast came with toasts, omelette or egg and fruits. Really good! The attached restaurant is a charming place with delicious food. Try the tealeaf-salad! Or enjoy cocktails in the stylish garden.|The guesthouse is at the main road, a 5 minutes walk from a small beach north of Ngapali-Main-Beach which offers few tourists, coconut-tree sourroundings and wide white sandbeach to lay on. I think this is only the budget place in Ngapali Beach. The value for money is ok ( we thought Myanmar was generally a little overpriced accommodation wise) and the rooms and bathroom/toilets were clean enough. The room had no aircon but fans. The mosquitoes could get in and there were some rat like rustles/scampering in the roof ay night. Unfortunately the walls were paper-thin and we had plenty of rowdy guests to contend with. The local breakfast option was great but the western choice not so much. The owner was helpful and even let us crash in his foyer when we arrived at 5am...

I was in ngapali beach for a study project and stayed at power guesthouse for 7 weeks. I felt right at home as I arrived. Nyan, the owner of the restaurant, has been so kind with me. He helped me a lot with my project or any other questions I had. And moreover, he's just really nice to hang out with! Also the rest of his family are such nice people!! The rooms are comfortable and reasonably priced. The breakfast is really good and so is all the other food in the restaurant. The location is really good,, very close to the beach.
