Min Nandar Garden Hotel — Hotel in Thanlyin

Min Nandar Gardens hotel- not really suitable for foreign tourists |Three reviews over three years does not an excellent make||We actually decided not to stay and forgo our payment for four days.||Didn’t check before we visited so the mistake was ours. Firstly we were delayed by two days, and could not contact the hotel as their email box was full. And our language skills is not up to a phone call. It was incredibly hard to find as Google maps has it off the wrong street. Our reception was confused and unappealing as if we were a pest. The reception was run via an iPhone so not surprising the IT is a shambles. The reception area was dirty, dusty and the tables and windows needed a wipe over. A single large lonely looking fish in a grungy fish tank is the only (sad) decoration. ||The staircase is worn and in need of a paint, and the room although offensively overawed by cheap air freshener, still stunk of cigarette smoke as did the entire upper floor. The bedspread was stained and holey, a tariff rate asheet....sticky taped to the wall, showed that you can rent the room for the day from 10.00 with check out at 1800hrs...couldn’t imagine why.... ||Anyway, due to the grotty condition, lack of public transport, and 30-40min journey to Yangon central we decided to bail out and go elsewhere closer to city and cleaner.||Not suitable for a tourist who wants to see Yangon. ||Just needs a bit of love, lots of maintenance thirty minutes closer to Yangon central, and a properly trained and equipped reception staff, and this place has the makings of a...
