Great Glory Hotel — Hotel in Yangon

Great place, friendly staff. Free breakfast on the rooftop until 10 am. The room is clean and spacious, with very good AC. Sometimes there is no hot water, but it doesn't matter since it's always +35 in Yangon. They have three bunnies in the lobby :D The hotel is not in the city, but that's how you get to see the local life. Everything around is cheap, people are nice, no one tried to rip us off except the three wheelers... To get to the city: after getting on the main road, turn left and walk straight for about 3 kilometers until you see a bridge, don't pass it, walk under it, and you can take the famous circular train to the city center for 20 US cents. Also, taxi from the airport to the hotel should only cost 5000 kyats, which is about $4. When you leave, you can ask the hotel to book you a taxi, for the airport, they will negotiate a good...

Outstanding staff and attention to detail. We love this place and stayed here twice during our time in Yangon. The staff are exceptional and it was very clean. The hotel has seen better days but everything in both of the rooms we stayed in was fully functional - excellent a/c, very reliable internet (better than many other more expensive places in Yangon). The rooms we chose were quiet and, as I was working whilst traveling, that was essential. The manager and his wife went out of their way to make sure we had the best of stays. I am looking forward to our future visits and cannot recommend it highly enough. For a basic, budget hotel, it goes far and beyond...
