With the beautiful pitches of the Erongo Rocks Campsite, we found our absolute favorite campsite in Namibia. The campsites (especially Camp Granite and Camp DikDik) are beautifully laid out and have been completely integrated into the rocky landscape. We stayed at Camp Granite for three nights. This offers an inviting seating area that has been equipped with an a shade sail, a sink, an outdoor kitchen with a ready-to-use gas stove, a fireplace for cooking with wood and a beautiful outdoor bathroom. Rarely have we enjoyed going to the toilet so much ;-). Another braai area has also been created below the lounge area and the kitchen between three spherical rocks to watch the starry sky by the fire in the evening. Everywhere you can see the attention to detail and the work and effort that went into building the campsites. This also justifies the slightly above average price. What we also really liked were the many, well sign-posted walking and hiking trails and viewing points that have been created especially for the guests on the huge farm area. From short walks for pleasure to long hikes, there is something for every age and skill level. The paths are beautiful and varied. Here, too, you can see how much love and effort everything was put into place. The whole region around Erongo Rocks also offers enough variety to stay here for a few days. You can visit a San Living Museum, see ancient murals, go horseback riding (organized from Omaruru) or go on safari in your own vehicle (we saw giraffes, zebras and impalas - it is supposed to have also some leopards and rhinos in this area). Near the campsites there is a beautiful lodge called AiAiba with an amazing panoramic view and a nice swimming pool. We drove there one evening with our camper to have a delicious 3-course menu - we were also allowed to use the outdoor area and the pool beforehand in the afternoon. We loved Erongo Rocks Campsites and will be back for sure.

Our new favorite of our Namibia trip was Camp KykNet at Erongo Rocks. It was the most amazing stay so far. The bathroom and the entire campsite are built into the rocks, 1km away from everyone else. The shower and toilet are under the open sky, offering an amazing view! Everything was built and maintained with so much love and attention to detail. The owners, Terry and Didi, were super fun and welcoming, and really helped us out with our fridge and battery while they were broken. We would have loved to have stayed longer. There’s so much you can do in the area, and it’s worth staying for at least a couple of nights. Staying at Erongo Rocks also allows you to make use of the pool at Ai Aiba Lodge, which was perfect for us to chill out a little after being on the road for 2+ weeks already. Can’t recommend it enough; hope to be back someday soon! ❤️

We spend 1 night in camp Dik Dik and really enjoyed it. So much thought must have gone into planning the sites - there’s is everything there a camper could hope for :) Plain space to park the car with your rooftop tent, fire place, even a gas bottle and stove are provided. We really enjoyed our time here! Didi recommended the Mountain View Trail and we did it in the morning. It was quite exhausting due to >30 degrees but the view from the top was totally worth it. Didi gave us a really nice tip: when you have lunch at the neighboring lodge “AiAiba” you can use their pool. PS: greetings from the AiAiba Pool - also really cool place to round up our experience at Erongo rocks

true to its name, this place really does rock!

What an absolute hidden gem this is, so happy that we stumbled across it and would def recommend anyone to make time to visit on your Namibia travels. Terry and DiDi were unbelievably hospitable and friendly, the camps were immaculate, very nice bathrooms and decent kitchen set up. We poked our heads around the wild camping area (called DikDik) which looks INCRED so would def recommend trying to book this if you can, but the other campsites (where we stayed) were also amazing.

There are some great walks to do around the campsites, very well signposted with stunning views of Spitzkoppe and Brandberg from the top. It is also possible to spend the day at Ai Aiba for the price of a lunch, the hotel next door, which has an awesome pool and restaurant which we did one day post morning walk. It is also very close to the San Living Museum, a fascinating lived museum of the San People, where you can learn about their culture - a real highlight. We spent 3 nights at Erongo Rocks, and it felt like one of those places you could go back to forever! Terry and DiDi were a fountain of knowledge on Namibia as well and really helped us plan the rest of our trip. All in all, 10/10 - so hopefully see you again...

We had been looking forward to our stay at Erongo Rocks Campsite and were overwhelmed as soon as we arrived: The "KykNet" site was simply breathtaking! Nestled between rocks, lovingly prepared and very well maintained - a real jewel in nature.||||Unfortunately, our stay began with a minor catastrophe: All four brackets of our roof tent had broken off and it was just lying loosely on the canopy. Fortunately, nothing more serious happened.||||Didi and Terry immediately proved to be real lifesavers. With incredible helpfulness, Didi and his team helped to safely remove the tent from the roof and store it in their workshop. Although we couldn't spend the first night there and had to drive to Windhoek to get spare parts, we felt completely supported.||||We returned two days later and Didi and his team expertly reassembled our roof tent. It was as if we were visiting friends who had helped us in an emergency without hesitation. This hospitality and humanity impressed us deeply and made our stay a very special experience.||||Erongo Rocks Campsite is not only a beautiful place, but is also run by wonderful people. We can wholeheartedly recommend this place!||||Many thanks to Didi, Terry, Pepe, Andreas and Haushiku!...
