Moon Valley River Camp is way off the beaten track in the middle of the Moon Valley and Swakop River. It is located on a 20 Ha farm that has been in the family for 70 years. It is a working farm that specialises in asparagus. They have 4 private campsites, but plan to extend. The surrounding areas are a photographers dream, and it is the only location where you can camp in the Moon Valley. After 10 months of travel likely the quietest and most welcoming sites we’ve stayed at. Clean, campsites raked, good ablutions, quiet beyond quiet. Everything you could need was there.

What puts this into the top ranked sites? Well first off it’s literally the first site where you can balance the hot and cold water perfectly in the shower - it’s either too hot or too cold - but here, perfect! Also when the owner comes to ask if you need anything … that goes a long way!
