SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM
Fellow travellers.
No prices on any of their items in the shop They make it up as they go along.
On the first day I bought a Russian Roll & Apple cake. I wanted to put it in 2 paper bags. The young lady insisted on a polystyrene take away container. okay. Not my first choice. More plastic
I said I'll pay cash. It cost: N$110. Ouch. Okay... I paid
Next day I come with a plate from last nights dinner. (Who needs more plastic) To get a Russian roll & Apple pie. R80. Why was it cheaper now? The young lady, hesitated, & with a dead pan face, said it was for the polystyrene container.
I questioned this. The mother, I believe, meakly answered: "it has to be bought in'. Standard phrase. (She had a demeanour, of someone who "tripped and fell against the door handle', one too many times) One of those farm wives.
So this miserable container that I didn't want in the first place cost more than a litre of diesel 🤣
So I turned the other cheek.😄
I bought another container for N$30. I insisted on a receipt. No can do. I have the card printout though. I asked to get my dinner in it. why not?
Instead of admitting their 'mistake', or apologising: The heavy set owner, came to my room & gave me a stern talking to, that I am looking for trouble He was intimidating.
Guess what: My dinner got delivered on a side plate! They still have my bloody N$30 polystyrene container that I paid for!!
So I got scammed 2 times in 2 days.
Just spread the good news! Hats off to you Betta Camp 🤣 Scammers!
Oh: Obviously no wifi for guests No cell phone reception. Ever. They hadnt had phone...
Read moreStaff was friendly and helpful. The room was simple with a bed toilet and a shower. A little fridge is provided as well as an evaporate cooler.
For self drive equipped visitors it is quite nice too. Although the provided kitchen amenities will be disappointing for the unequipped visitor. The tiny kettle and pot seem barely enough to heat enough water for washing up. The provided gas stove is so ineffective at boiling water I don't understand how there's enough electricity for a big evaporate cooler but not an electric kettle.
It was quiet with lots of bird life around the room and grounds were very clean overall a nice place to put up your feet for the night if you are on a long trip. After sunset there was a lot of dogs barking and depending on where you are on the site that can be...
Read morePlace in the middle of nowhere. Challets are nice and clean. I do not undarstand the toilet with no doors connected to bedroom, but I've seen that in other places in Namibia so guess its ok, but little bit funny. Warm water is available after 17:00 because they need to warm it up first, with boilers which are on wood. Maybe, they upgrade it later with solar thermal collector, but thats just an upgrade opinion and nothing to be upset about. Internet connection didn't work but as I said its in the middle of nowhere so just look at the annimals and pretty nice night sky. If you wanna steak make sure you reserve it in the morning, cause you will not have any. When we was there they offered just 20 litters of fuel but it is enough to go to the nearest town 200km from there (Aus). So...
