AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE! We had the pleasure as a family of 6 to stay 3 nights in this unique Hotel. The owner and staff have made this stone-walled off-the-beaten track oasis in the middle of Southern Namibia into a destination. You are out in the middle of a dry, hot, rocky landscape and this hotel has a unique bar with cold drinks - anything you could want alcoholic or non. It has a wide terrace with the owners handcrafted gorgeous furniture and a cool pool to relax in. We spent every afternoon playing in the pool and enjoying our drinks. The dinners were delicious and presented with class. The friendly staff was accommodating and gracious. The stars are spectacular! Every morning you have a lovely full hot breakfast that we all ate up and enjoyed. You’ll enjoy each unique room as they are placed all around the main building. Carefully walk up and down the stairs (motion lights guide you) and around the place. They were in a drought, so maybe not as lush as normal, but you can see the landscaping will come back with the rain. It’s a desert! We had the family room with A/C at the top of the tower and it had a large patio to view the valley, stars and surrounds. We enjoyed talking and getting to know the staff and owner. The owner has a large farm and we DEFINITELY plan on returning for a BIG GAME HUNT. It would be an experience of a lifetime. We highly recommend this space. It’s unique, interesting and exactly what you want when...

Stayed here for one night. Strange location. Although our group received a friendly welcome from the owner, it all went down hill from there as he spoke to his staff very poorly in front of customers; we certainly felt uncomfortable for them. Our toilet (which was filthy) didn’t flush. Asked a member of staff to help. It worked once then not again. He came out again and was rude, intimidating, exuded anger and was unhelpful. After dismantling the cistern he got it to work but was surly and unpleasant; no apology offered. Our bath, shower and toilet were old, dirty and stained. The basin in the bedroom was so bunged up with hair that it wouldn’t drain - disgusting. Lighting was by bare bulbs and the room smelled strongly of engine oil. (I suspect it had once been used as a garage). Very creepy atmosphere. Our party of seven guests all felt the same and we couldn’t...

We arrived late afternoon and were offered drinks at the honesty bar which was a very friendly gesture. We camped at the camping site which has three vehicle campsites at trhe bottom to thne left of the hotel. Unfortunately we can’t review the rooms as we didn’t go inside thew building. The campsites had access to electricity (solar system with batteries and inverter) and we had enough hot water from the wood fired donkey for both an evening and morning shower. The ablution facilities is basic and caters for every need but can do with a make-over. Wifi speed was also great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the night. It is also worthwhile to visit the newly built Neckartal Dam, Namibia’s newest and biggest dam.

If you want brilliant service from wonderful, friendly staff members; if you want good, wholesome food in ample quantities; if you want clean, comfortable rooms, then this is your place to stay. If you are fussy and/or want city type fanciness, forget it. This hotel is the REAL deal run by genuine people who will do everything possible to make your stay pleasant. I cannot give 5 stars only because the rooms lack some of the modern gadgets you don't need on a trip in this area anyway. Put simply, the Seeheim Hotel is a great place to stay and I find it very easy to say good things about it! And, of course... the magnificent Fish River Canyon is nearby.
