Be aware of false advertisements. My travel agent in SA who organised my trip mentioned that all Gondawana properties have wifi in their respective room. Begining of my trip I stayed in Gondwana property in Namib Desert lodge. The duty manage Francis was super lovely and honest in his opinion that there was no or extremel weak internet service in the room. I then travelled to next destination which was Swakopmund Delight Hotel, another one of Gondawana property. They put me on level 3 and both days not once I could get wifi signal. The reception apologised for the inconvenience. I then travelled to Etosha Safari another one of Godowana property. Upon checking in they said no internet access in room but only in reception area. I am one of those people don't need net access when holidaying. However, all of these websites both agents and Godowana properties clearly says internet is provided and it is complimentary. This is a false advertisement. Staff at the front counter didn't know how to handle and couldn't provide a satisfactory response. I will not be using Gondwana again for their misleading advert. Please avoid these property if you wish to stay connected to your loved ones. Beware room only has hot water. There was no cold water. They must be using water tank as supply...
Read moreWe were camping here for 3 nights.
Overall it was a really enjoyable experience with a clean and comfortable campsite with options to grill yourself or to eat in a restaurant with a good and trustworthy quality. Shower is clean, toilet paper and soap are provided. Each parking station has a socket. Zebras visit and graze next to you at night after 10-11 PM - definitely a big highlight!
Why 4 stars:
staff could be more open / offer advices to first-time visitors, e.g. that no plastic bags and red meat are allowed in Etosha or that we can expect wild animals visiting the campsite at night (which is super cool, just unexpected). On the other hand, the team kindly agreed to store our bags and were friendly when asked directly.
the shower requires a bit of magic to set the water temperature right and you can't close the toilet cabins (which is generally acceptable and not critical)
In the end, despite these minor things, it was a very good experience - the things above are provided as a feedback for potential...
Read moreThe lodge has an adorable quirky entertainment area for guests to enjoy amidst their beautiful and cosy lodges. The rooms are just the right size to unwind in. Surrounded by Mopane trees this tranquil estate is close enough to Etosha national park that you can drift off to sleep with the lullaby of hyeans and lions during the late hours of the night. The rooms are modern and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is awesome. The shower is so spacious and the water pressure in the shower is perfect to help one unwind after a full day of game drives. I highly recommend the full day game drive into Etosha Park. The guides are skilled. They know the park well and helped us to see more lions than elephants. We even saw the elusive cheetah and her Cubs. The full day game drive includes plenty of water and soft drinks and a well packed lunch pack. We loved our stay here and will be back with more guests to...
