Lovely lodge about 10 minutes from the Anderson gate. There is a main lodge and then all the rooms are separate chalets, some of which are quite far from the lodge. If you have limited mobility this would be a hard place to get around. The rooms are rustic but nice, with the best mosquito netting I've experienced in a hotel. One thing to note is that if you bring a travel cot for a young child, it will fit next to the bed and be fully covered by the net. There is a small balcony off of each room, with some chairs and a nice view. There are no refrigerators in the rooms and wifi is only available in the lodge. There is limited cellular service in this area, so prepare to disconnect. There isn't much for kids to do at the lodge other than go to the pool; there's no good space to run around or a playground or the like. In terms of food, breakfast is mediocre, and dinner is generally surprisingly good. A nice selection of salads, soup and several kinds of meat, some of which are usually game. The dessert selection is not awesome and the drink list, while extensive, is very expensive. Also: note that the Google Maps directions for how to get here are incorrect! There is a sign pointing to the lodge a good 1-2 kilometers before Maps will tell you to turn. You turn left before you reach the Etosha Safari Camp.

I would give this place 5 stars except the beds were not comfortable at all. Everything else was pretty awesome. It is super close to Etosha so its a nice place to stay if you can't get a spot in the park. They have a restaurant and gift shop that had a beautiful view and a mini watering hole you can see a few animals at. The food at the buffet is pretty pricey for what you get but considering where its located and the lack of stores around its not that bad. The rooms are really big with a beautiful balcony where you can look at stars at night and see the beautiful sunrise in the morning. The shower is awesome and huge and the bed has a mosquito net around it. The staff was nice for the most part not overly friendly but nothing to complain about. The bed was unfortunately really hard and uncomfortable but for a short stay worth staying at

AVOID, BED BUGS - We have been given a room with dozens of BED BUGS (room 40) - see pictures below. When we noticed it and complained at the reception, they told us they will ask the house cleaning service to go remove them… finally they granted us another room (room 56). When we got there, we checked the beds and actually also found some bed bugs in the room, and that the mastress had been changed 5 days ago (see picture). The worst is maybe the answer of the staff when we told them the second room was also full of bed bugs : « please wait a bit so that we can check the new room we will give you does not have any ». I would have hoped none of the rooms ready for guests have bed bugs… Eventually, they did not even accept to refund us and we had to search another hotel late in the evening

The Etosha Safari Lodge's main selling point is its location close to (but not inside) Etosha National Park, making it an ideal base for game drives. Unfortunately, there are also some aspects that detract from the stay and only partially justify the relatively high prices.||A major point of criticism is the inability to darken the rooms. The curtains are too thin, so the room becomes very bright in the morning. For late sleepers or travelers who don't want to be woken up by the early sun, this is a real problem.||In general, they could invest a bit more in room maintenance. There are minor maintenance issues and worn-out spots that you wouldn't expect in this price range. The rooms are functional but not luxurious.||The service is generally okay, but not particularly warm. The staff seemed a bit annoyed at times and not as friendly as at other lodges.||The lodge is fully aware of its location and the lack of sufficient competition, which gives the impression that this position is being exploited. This is evident not only in the comparatively high prices but also in the quality of the food. The dinner is acceptable but not a culinary highlight. The breakfast is disappointing and very basic. You can tell that, due to a lack of alternatives in the area, guests have no choice but to eat at the lodge.||Positive aspects, however, are the scenery and the spaciousness. From the terrace, you have a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape, which is particularly breathtaking at sunset. The atmosphere at the lodge is relaxed. The communal areas, such as the pool and the bar, are also quite inviting. The check-in process was described as slow in some reviews, but it was reasonably quick during our stay.||In summary, the Etosha Safari Lodge is a good choice if the location is the most important criterion. However, if you value good value for money, luxurious amenities, friendly service, or good food, you will have to make...

This review serves as a character or personal reference for Miss Emily Otto who is currently employed by Gondwana Collection Namibia.|It was at Etosha Safari Lodge on Sunday, 31 August 2025, whilst on an overnight excursion, that I first made her acquaintance. Emily Otto waited at our table, looking after us and making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Emily’s enthusiasm and warmth were some of the first qualities which impressed. I found her to be very affable! Her service and interpersonal skills; backed by an individual approach to each table she helped served, are impeccable (of a very high standard). She is warm in her dealings with customers and is outstanding at people and situation reading (strong observational skills and a deep understanding of people’s emotions and intentions). The latter was also reflected in her handling and organising the staff and music band to serenade me on my birthday on Sunday. It takes some skill to make serenading look special and personal as I can imagine they must be doing this quite often.|Overall; a fantastic evening with great food and great waitressing to say nothing of the music band! Etosha Safari Lodge, you can be proud of your staff in general – they are skilled in their jobs and eager to please. There is a strong bond between them which, as you know, builds camaraderie in this demanding profession.|Thank you and all the best for continued success in the Gondwana Collection...
