RESPONSE TO MANAGEMENT 13 MAY: Youâre deflecting the facts that you asked us to share a campsite with other guests to accommodate the very large âwalk-inâ booking. After we and the other pre-booked guests declined your request, you still squeezed 12 people in at the swimming pool area that is a shared entertainment space for the private AND group campsites. Not once did I mention any issue sharing bathrooms â you fail, once again, to take accountability for your actions. Similarly to your cleaning staff not confirming that they checked the camera footage. Also, your staff know which spots arenât covered by the camera and they admitted that there arenât animals roaming around. They also insinuated that your staff member who turns the lights on/off may have taken our food.
INITIAL REVIEW 12 MAY: Conveniently located with a well-stocked shop. Our campsite and shared bathrooms were clean. On our 2nd day, bread disappeared from our campsite after we came back from a day outing. Management sent the cleaning staff to chat to us and they said they will check the camera footage, yet they never got back to us. On the 3rd day, Management asked if we could change our booking to share a campsite with complete strangers (our neighbors) so they can accommodate a "walk-in" group of 12 people. Neither we, nor our neighbors, were comfortable with the absurd request and we remained in our designated campsites -- only to find that Management allowed the large group of obnoxious (drunk?) foreigners with multiple 4x4s and night lights camp at the shared swimming pool. We were shocked by Management's greed. It spoiled the experience of the guests who booked in advance. We...
Read moreBooked for 3 nights. Everything was fine on the first night.
However on the second night when I arrived back at the site after a long day at Etosha, the manager approached my car and immediately accused me of "being in [her] spot". I was confused and at this point had no Idea who she was. I asked her if she worked there and she said she was the manager. I then explained that I had booked for 3 nights and was allocated that lot the night before. She then demanded I show her my papers proving I was booked in. Apparently when she checked, the system did not indicate any booking for the lot I was staying in.
She was on the phone to one of her staff members and in front of me accused me of being an intruder and she called security. I had clearly told her I had booked for 3 nights and already stayed the night before with no issues.
I understand she may have been concerned that I was staying without a booking, however the situation could have very easily been handled from the outset had she politely introduced herself, explained the situation and then kindly asked me to show my evidence of booking. Instead I was met with immediate hostility and treated like an intruder all because of a mistake or oversight on their end.
After I did my best to calm her down I showed her my booking evidence and she then treated me nicely.
After this experience I really didn't feel welcome. I left after 2 nights and went elsewhere for...
Read moreWe absolutely loved our stay at Etosha Trading Post Campsiteâpossibly the best campsite we experienced in Namibia. The site is exceptionally well-run and fantastically appointed. Each camper gets their own private kitchen and toilet block, which were meticulously clean and tidy.
Thereâs also a convenient on-site shop for stocking up on basic supplies, as well as a gas station, which is a great bonus for travelers. We especially enjoyed the poolâit was a perfect way to cool off, though the floor could use a bit more attention as it was quite slippery.
Overall, a superb campsite with excellent facilities and a great atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly...
