Vreugde Guest Farm — Hotel in Kunene Region

Highly recommend staying at this authentic guest farm. It is a welcoming oasis. The dogs are welcoming. The owners have been in this area for generations and have many stories to tell. Everything is clean and spacious. The staff is very friendly and professional. The food is good. The beds are comfortable. We had locally hunted gemsbok and kudu meat. There is a log fire outside to sit around in the evening. The stars are amazing once the lights are switched off. Jackals can be heard in the evening. There are two relaxing walks you can do, with a map provided by the hosts. There are often resident owls sleeping in trees around the farm. Also a lot of other bird life around the farm. Excellent stay. Friendly clean relaxed. We stayed four nights and spent two days by the pool. Delicious home cooked food. We enjoyed the farm tour, don’t miss it. Especially if you have interest in farming or in food security and in Namibian social history. We had an amazing time on the Etosha safari. Our guide Theo was brilliant and worked really hard to give us a wonderful experience. We saw lots of different wild life and were blown away with our luck in seeing a zebra being born start to finish. Little one standing on wobbly legs with in ten minutes. We can fully and wholeheartedly recommend Vreugde Guest Farm. We did spend three nights in one of the family houses with four people. not only was everything clean and the food delicious, the team of VGF is a bunch of awesome people. Every conversation was a pleasure, we were helped with usual and unusual problems, and we truly have a feeling, that we were not only welcome, but it is their intention to make us enjoy the country and our stay as much as possible.
