Etosha King Nehale reflects how far Namibian tourism has come. It blends seamlessly as old world tradition and new world chic tourism meet to create a unique experience on the new edge of the Etosha Pan.
As you enter the turn off the property you are greeted with a large wooden thrown denoting that you are entering Royal grounds. This a perfect time for a photo opportunity. You are greeted warmly by staff who show around and welcome you with ,in our case, frozen yogurt.
If you arrive before Check in, don’t worry you can spend the time in the dining hall having lunch. The lunch menu caters to fill the empty tummies as you admire the grass plains. Truly making you feel like an explorer on an adventure as you sip your cold refreshment.
The rooms are a treat, large and well equipped to meet all your needs. Bathrooms are spacious and well equipped. Again the view from the king size bed this time will make you wanna spend hours gazing over the grass lands. Each unit is also equipped with a splash pool to cool off when the African sun’s relentless heat won’t let up. Private and secluded this pool area certainly is a great addition to the room.
King Nehale comes into its own at sunset, as you are greeted with the most spectacular colors and vistas. As the day makes way for the for night the red and amber hues that fall over the savanna brings a calm to this unique and tranquil place. Dinner is served buffet style and is a blend of African cuisines that is truly delicious. Wine list is limited but you’ll be able to pick a good wine from it. Beer is as cold as it gets.
Breakfasts are also buffet style with an assorted choices.
All in all this place is worth the trip and will make you feel special. This lodge also aims to uplift and benefit the local community as well through the employment of local constituents.
With access to the world renowned Etosha National Park you will be treated to some excellent safari opportunities to spot that lion or elephant.
This is a real gem and comes well recommended as management and staff are friendly, engaging and eager to assist in need...
Read moreThe staff at King Nehale lodge were exceptionally welcoming and attentive. Typically I don’t write reviews for hotels, restaurants, etc: however, I had such a positive experience that I thought I should share it. After a one hour flight from Windhoek I was promptly transferred to the lodge within 1.5 hours, the cost of the round trip less than a car hire and hassle-free. The lodge is located a mere 2 km from the Etosha National Park Gate, so within minutes you are viewing a good variety the protected mammals and birds. On my first game drive enjoyed close-up sightings of 5 rhinos, including mother and baby! The villas are private and luxurious, with a large and thankfully cool soaker pool. The bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge was an elegant, welcoming touch. The A/C was quiet and effective to help you sleep at night. The dinner buffet has a great selection for all tastes, including vegetarians. Personally, I enjoyed the kudu and hartebeest steaks. The managers Lauren and Tinus are fantastic hosts. They truly are interested in making your stay enjoyable. I felt like I was being treated...
Read moreHave to admit that I was a bit biased when arriving; comparing everything to the Desert Grace. While Desert Grace gets full stars, there is one thing that King Nehale had that stood out from the rest and that is: Generous Hospitality- scoring an 11/10. The day before travel I got a call that patches of the road at Nehale gate is bad with deep-sunken mud/gunk (because of previous rains), and requires a 4X4. On arrival day, the King-Nehale team fetched us at the gate and pulled us out of the gunk when we got stuck the next day. Working tirelessly outside their normal work requirements and going out of their way to make our stay memorable and pleasant. The highlight was the evening; with delicious food, overflow of drinks, night at the boma with their special traditional performances and even a birthday song! We enjoyed singing and dancing with all of you. Wish I could name and thank all the staff here, but a special word of thanks has to go to Davis. Your efforts were seen and greatly appreciated! Thank you King Nehale...
