Onguma Bush Camp is an oasis of calm and peace in the heart of Etosha National Park. The camp is located in a private concession, so you are guaranteed to see plenty of wildlife. One of the highlights of the camp is the watering hole located right next to the restaurant. This is a great place to see animals come to drink. The rooms at the lodge are comfortable and spacious, and they all have private bathrooms. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they are always willing to help you plan your day's activities. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Onguma Bush Camp and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing safari experience. Here are some specific things I would highlight in my review: The peace and quiet of the camp is truly refreshing. It is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The watering hole is a great way to see animals in their natural habitat. While we had dinner and lunch at the restaurant we had the unforgettable experience of watching elephants, giraffes and lions!!! passing by. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and attentive. They make sure that you have everything you need for a relaxing stay. The food is delicious and freshly prepared. The camp also has a good selection of wines, beers and different drinks. I would highly recommend Onguma Bush Camp to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing safari experience. It is a truly special place.

An amazing place to start our honeymoon safari! Staff were attentive and our guide, Engelbrecht, was knowledgeable and fun for both the sundowner and the morning game driver. Being positioned right next to a watering hole really makes this place special as there are nearly always animals nearby. We saw storks, impalas, warthogs, giraffes, lots of birds, guinea fowl… The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. We appreciated the staff’s honeymoon gift of some bubbles and the cute bedtime stories. You’ve got the best of both Onguma, as a private game reserve, but also the proximity to Etosha in case you wanted to head out and explore at your own pace. We also had a surprise private dinner in the bush which was amazing! A hyena and some jackals stopped by. In short- full of nature, comfortable and overall a great experience!

Onguma Bush camp is a very high level accommodation. It is just outside of etosha and it allows safari in etosha with minimal drive. They also have their own game reserve. The lodges are very premium with all comforts and very spacious. The restaurant is also great with a very good level of service. The staff is very friendly and there is a very good WiFi cover. The bush camp also features a water hole but I must admit there is not a huge variety of animals coming to it. My suggestion would be not to go for the guided tour of the reserve itself but just drive over to etosha (even if the guides into the reserve are very well prepared). If you plan to visit etosha this is a great place to stay.

The highlight of this camp was our guide, Alphius, who was amazing during the bush walk in the morning and the sunset safari. We saw 9 lions drinking from one of the waterholes in the evening, and it was amazing. We learnt a lot about plants and animals.

We were hoping of seeing a leopard next to the waterhole at Onguma Bush Camp but despite the fact that the camp requests silence from guests in order to be able to enjoy this beautiful place, two huge groups, one of them drunk Germans, were shouting and laughing in the restaurant next to the waterhole - not surprising that besides the elephants, there were no other animals… The staff did not ask them to keep it down and were even speaking loud themselves. One of the German ladies put her flash when filming the elephant and blinded the poor animal and my husband in the process…. People like that should be given some basic golden rules before being let to places where there is nature and wildlife…

The waiters and the lady at the reception were really nice but seem to lack training. However, we were told the bush walk was 1 hour and it was almost 3 hours, which the reception lady obviously didn't know. For dinner, we ordered beef (cooked rare) and pasta, and they brought us lamb and beef (medium rare) before correcting the shot... Same thing in the morning - we ordered an omelette without mushrooms and got the mushrooms… I'm not sure where the miscommunication came from.

The rooms are really nice, cosy and comfortable, even though ours didn't have any view at all. The staff cleaning the rooms was super professional. The bonfire next to the restaurant in the evening was nice as well.

There was a miscommunication on the fact that we upgraded from camping to a room (obviouslyTamboti and Bush Camp do not communicate at all and Tamboti even sent an email to our agent that we did not show at the campsite whole we were already in our room for a second night...), then whether we had paid the sunset safari or not, and both were managed very badly. At the reception we showeded them the confirmation that we had paid but it was obviously not sorted yet because they even stopped us at the gate, telling us again that we hadn't paid for the sundowner for which we had already previously paid, as confirmed by an email from them…. Finally, it appeared that it was their mistake and they had only charged us for 1 person and not 2 people sundowners, while everything else was for 2 people, obviously... BAD MANAGEMENT WHICH SPOILT...

My husband and were booked in the Springbok Campsite for 3 nights, we had one of the best stays here whilst on our 16night tour of Namibia, only wished we had come for 26nights as there is so much to do. This was the back end of our holiday and have to stay from the start to the end we were not disappointed. To be greated on arrival by a friendly staff member with a tray of rolled up cool refreshing face cloth to the easiness of booking 3 drives, one morning local drive and two Etosha game drives, one AM and one PM. WOW we had the best driver for all 3 drives, Nico was very friendly and very knowledgeable. The 1st night we chilled by the pool and watched giraffes come to the water hole right by the pool. The next morning was our 1st AM drive into Etosha we saw Black faced Impala, Springbok, Steenbok,Gnu, Kudud, Zebras and Giraffes. We spotted a black rino way in the distance, came out better on the photo then expected. We came across a femal cheetah with her cub chilling in the shade and elephants stomping through the bush. We returned to the campsite and watched zebras come to the waterhole by the swimming pool. We had a meal at the restuarant that night, food was delicious, staff were very friendly. The next day we did the local morning drive Onguma Park, We saw elephants, male lion, cheetahs and watched a lioness hunting a dik-dik antelope. What a brilliant 4hour drive. We had the Etosha PM drive and experienced a thunderstorm that lasted 20mins. All the animals seemed to have got a spring in their step as we saw alot in the rest of our trip. Cheetah and cub feeding on their kill, hyena and her cub and all the other usual animals too. Would definitely recommend this place as it was everything needed and more to end our fab 1st ever holiday in Namibia. The ablutions were very private for the campsite and were kept very clean. We left a few items knowing we would not be needing them as we were heading home. The reception rang us to tell us we...

Just outside Etosha Park, this place seemingly comes out of nowhere!||When we arrived, a valet greeted our vehicle with wet cloths for our comfort. Our bags were quickly whisked out of the car as we checked in. The check-in process was quick and the front desk staff were as pleasant and helpful as the valets.||Our room (actually a complete thatched roof hut) was simply stunning. From the Dutch doors in the entry way, to the large skin carpet, to the mosquito netting which is elegant, to the very upscale|bathroom, this place wowed us - definitely far better than we expected. The room has air conditioning (controlled by remote control) and the WiFi is very good. Looking up at the thatched roof is quite nice. While we were at dinner, the bed was turned down and bottles of water and a ‘bedtime story’ were left in the room for us. The only ‘negative’ was that there were two double beds pushed together to make a king bed, which was fine, except that each bed was made with linens for a double bed, so the beds were ‘divided’ by the linens.||The property has a very nice swimming pool and an open air guest area (next to the bar) which overlooks a large pond where various types of wildlife come to drink. The guest area is very comfortable with various types of chairs and sofas, which face the west so you can see the stunning sunset. There are also myriad games for guests to play while relaxing.||The restaurant is also top notch and not dinner and breakfast are included in the price of the room. Dinner in the open-air dining room was both wonderful and very elegant - the meal was very well prepared and something you would be served in a high-end restaurant. ||The grounds of the property are immaculately maintained. In short, we were very surprised at the level of service and the high quality of the property and the rooms.||We would absolutely stay here again if we come back to Namibia and...
