We went on a three-day safari with Manoj Bhattarai, and it was an incredible experience. Manoj is an outstanding guide – I would recommend him 100% without hesitation. He went above and beyond to show us as much wildlife as possible, sharing fascinating facts, fun stories, and personal insights.
We stayed at his family’s homestay in Meghauli, which was warm, authentic, and incredibly welcoming. When we arrived, they had even prepared a welcome cake for us – such a thoughtful surprise! I wasn’t feeling well for part of the trip, and they took such good care of me, with genuine concern. During a walk, Manoj even carried my backpack for a while, which I truly appreciated.
His mother cooked delicious meals, and the whole family made us feel completely at home. We had a separate room with bathroom & slept well.
On safari, we saw countless rhinos, crocodiles, a sloth bear, wild boars, elephants, and many beautiful birds. One of the best things about Meghauli is that it’s less crowded than other parts of Chitwan – fewer jeeps, which means a more peaceful and intimate wildlife experience.

After spending a little bit of time together, I already felt at home, being received with such open hands. ☀️
The surroundings are peaceful and they're very good located. Manoj is more than welcome to show you around and tell about his story.
His brother is also very kind and went along with us for some of the exploring. He has a bakery and we got surprised by cake the last night of our stay.
Overall, I definitely recommend this place in any way. If you want to explore the national park, the local life, be surrounded by very kind people and have delicious homemade food. This is the place for you.
The pictures tell for themselves.

Read moreThere is something really special about this family. On the route to Chitwan, I fell ill with food poisoning and was sick all night after arriving, Manoj and his mother took care of me like a family member… as I recovered my strength in their home, we got to plan at least one day trekking in the jungles of Chitwan. If meeting kind human beings isn’t enough reason to visit this family, then Manoj tour of the jungle will be it. With trekking and canoeing, you can view wildlife without the disturbance of jeeps and large crowds. It will be just you and Manoj all day, and his knowledge of the jungle overflowing :) stay here and you will never regret it, but it might be difficult to leave this place, like it was for me. See you soon, sending lots of love...
