Everything about my stay was practically perfect!||||I should say that there's some variation in the different rooms. I had one of their deluxe rooms, and everything about it was indeed deluxe! My friend had a smaller room, and hers was not as nice as mine.||||The place is a bit hard to find for a first-time visitor, as it requires a bit of a hike along a footpath, but most of the locals can point the way. Do keep this in mind if you have a lot of luggage! I believe it's the closest hotel to the Kopan monastery, and you'll need to get out of the taxi right by the monastery's front gate. But the views of the Kathmandu valley are very nice from anywhere in this area, and there's a forest path nearby that made for a very pleasant afternoon trek.||||All of the staff were extremely helpful, kind and gracious. The food in their restaurant was very good, and they washed and dried some of my laundry during my stay, on a simple per kilo basis rather than charging for every item.||||My room included large double-paned windows with a good view of the Kathmandu valley. I stayed in January, which is a very cold time of year to visit Nepal, but every shower during my stay was as warm as I wanted, and the room got plenty of sunlight so that also helped warm the room.||||I wanted a place near the Kopan monastery so that I could visit there on occasion, and meditate on their grounds. The best restaurant I found nearby (at least on this trip) was the one inside the same monastery, although that's the off-site restaurant I tried, among several other options. There's also a great little gift-shop there, with some of the best prices I've ever found on yak-wool shawls.||||The drawback of this location is that there's not much that I found in the way of supermarkets, and going anywhere other than the Kopan monastery would likely involve...
Read moreBeautiful stay for 11 days after my course in Kopan. The family that runs the guest house is so kind, nice, and welcoming. Each one of them is the friendliest person. The mother is such a kind and beautiful woman. The food is very good, I ate a lot of times here and it was great. My room was simple but spacious, with a comfortable bed, a heater for the colder nights as it looked at the back and it was very clean. It was great waking up with the sound of the birds and the view of a tree outside my window and a side view of Kathmandu down at the valley. It's quiet and a great place to rest away from the Kathmandu chaos.
I will be back again in the future when I return to Nepal. The view from the terrace is also beautiful! Thank you for making...
Read moreI am coming back here for the second time and will come back more than once😍 This is a very quiet and peaceful place, if you want to hide from the noisy streets of Kathmandu, look at them from above in the arms of the mountains, fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of nature, then this place is definitely for you. Nearby is a beautiful forest, the Buddhist monastery of Kopan, in this guest house you can often see monks who come to eat, the Buddha stupa is 40 minutes on foot, 13 minutes by bike. The rooms are clean, cozy, with a beautiful view, a very nice family who works and lives here. Delicious cuisine, without spicy food, my favorite dal baht, which I ate every lunch for a month and of course masala tea in a clay glass. Very...
