The Legendary Hotel of Nepal renowned for starting Adventure Tourism in the country

Travellers know that the frenetic pace of a crowded city like Kathmandu needs an escape. The Kathmandu Guest House, a converted Rana dynasty mansion with fragrant gardens and airy corridors, has provided the peaceful refuge of choice since 1967.

Since the days of being the first and only hotel in Thamel, the packed tourist district of Kathmandu, it’s become something of an institution. It’s close to everywhere and its gate is the meeting point that nobody can mistake. As a guidebook put it, “Kathmandu Guest House acts as a magnet for mountaineers, pop stars, actors and eccentric characters.” Even the Beatles stayed here in 1968.

Kathmandu Guest House prides itself on being affordable to all budgets, from those looking to treat themselves to total comfort in elegantly modern suites, to volunteers and scholars who take the famous no-frills rooms.

Whether you’re returning from the mountains or arriving from the airport, come and relax at the courtyard restaurant, order a cup of fine Italian coffee or a chilled Gorkha Beer, and escape for a moment in the historic surroundings of Kathmandu’s most loved guesthouse.

Our Vision To be a leading home grown hotel brand in Nepal and to expand franchise across the country and South Asia.

The worst ever experience in KGH hotel. After having through almost all outlets of KGH hotels, Park village literally disappointed us this time. Right from the beginning when we entered reception building, it kept us thrashing with negative vibes. We had our booking, their check-in time was 2 pm and we arrived 30 mins early. Went straight to reception lobby and told the receptionist that we have a booking. The receptionist replied rudely “Our check-in time is 2 pm please come back later, meanwhile you can visit swimming pool area”. The very first impression was a rude response. She could have checked our booking details, could have told us to wait for few minutes until room gets ready and asked us to leave luggages in lobby while we wait outside roaming. We hung around a Japanese restaurant inside premises which was actually good and had some lunch there. Then we went to check-in, we were given room keys and a tuktuk dai (brother) took us to the room. We expected a balcony room since we booked a balcony room, called reception and asked to change room. Receptionist asked us to not use any room properties and wait for approx 15 min while next room gets ready. We waited in our room without touching anything. My partner just sat on bed while waiting. A guy comes in with new room key, sees my partner sitting in bed and rudely says “You cannot change room since you have used a property” Does he expect us to wait standing for entire 15 minutes? Or wait sitting in stairs? From my other KGH hotels experience, their staffs used to be so friendly, helpful and well mannered. This is definitely the worst experience among KGH outlets. Food here has also degraded the quality. We ordered a trout fish which we couldn’t even eat 10%, it smelled pond water which was intolerant to our taste bud and had to give up after 2 bites. We had planned to have dinner afterwards but because of this we canceled our dinner plan here since we didn’t expect good food anymore We hope they consider our feedback as positive critical comments and work on these to maintain their...

Amazing Stay at Park Village Resort

I recently stayed at Park Village Resort in Budhanilkantha for a relaxing getaway, and it was a wonderful experience. I stayed for four nights, and from the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the tranquil surroundings and the beautiful landscape.

Location: The resort is nestled in a serene area, surrounded by lush greenery and stunning views of the mountains. It’s conveniently located near the Budhanilkantha Temple, which was a delightful visit. The peaceful environment made it the perfect escape from the city hustle.

Amenities and Facilities: The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed with all the necessary amenities. I particularly enjoyed the garden view from my balcony. The resort offers a variety of amenities, including a refreshing pool, a well-equipped gym, and a relaxing spa. The expansive gardens were perfect for morning walks and added to the overall serene atmosphere.

Service: The staff at Park Village Resort were exceptional. From the front desk to the housekeeping team, everyone was friendly, attentive, and professional. They went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable.

Dining Experience: The dining options were excellent, with a good mix of local and international cuisines. The breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious, providing a great start to the day. I particularly enjoyed the traditional Nepali dishes served at the restaurant, which were flavorful and well-prepared.

Overall Experience: My stay at Park Village Resort was memorable, and I left feeling rejuvenated. The combination of excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and beautiful surroundings made it a perfect retreat. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful and luxurious stay in Budhanilkantha. I look forward to returning...

Located in Kathmandu, 17.7 km from Nagarkot, Park Village Hotel by KGH Hotels and Resorts features air-conditioned rooms and free private parking. The hotel has a year-round outdoor pool and playground, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant or a drink at the bar. Certain accommodations feature a sitting area where you can relax. Each room is equipped with a private bathroom equipped with a bathtub or shower. For your comfort, you will find slippers and a hairdryer. A flat-screen TV is provided. There is free shuttle service at the property. You can play tennis and ping-pong at the hotel. The hotel also provides bike rental and car rental. The nearest airport is Tribhuvan Airport, 9.7 km from the property. We left the laundry bag out to put our dirty clothes in and the housekeeping people automatically to it away after the first night. We had not filled out any paperwork saying we want it cleaned. Had to ask for it back the night before we left. I don't think they would have returned it if we hadn't called. They insisted we pay even though we didn't request the "service". ATM on the property would not accept either of my debit cards. Wifi username/password changed daily and required a new login, even after a power failure (daily). The location was within walking distance of where we needed to be daily. The Friday dinner buffet was outstanding.
