In general I was very satisfied with my stay at this Resort, especially with our 1-bedroom villa. The villa is huge, the bathroom amazing as well as the view of the valley. The resort grounds are beautifully designed and offer a very pleasant atmosphere. Although some rooms are a bit far from the restaurant and the pool, this did not bother us at all, as the buggy service worked wonderfully and timely.
When we arrived, there was a large event taking place, but the staff went out of their way to provide fantastic service. We were absolutely impressed – the customer service definitely deserves 5 stars!
Some people here complained about the road going up to the hotel but I can’t agree with that. If you follow the instructions of the hotel the road is really good for Nepali standards, especially compared to other 5 stars hotels in the area like the terraces.
There are two things I would like to mention that were less than perfect in our opinion: the rooms are much too bright for our taste, with a lot of light coming in. Our son was awake by 5:45 AM every morning, which was a bit annoying for us as parents. Blackout curtains would have been great. the quality of the food and beverages offerings and buffet were very disappointing. The waffles at breakfast were drenched in oil, and the breakfast and dinner buffet was too small and almost exclusively Nepali dishes. Breads were also not good. The Thai food was not authentic. Someone else here recommended the butter chicken but I saw they are American so you can’t trust that judgement - it was not good, tasteless and boring. On top of that, the coffee was simply undrinkable. This urgently needs improvement because if you go to a nice hotel you want to eat good food and don’t want to worry about finding an outside place to eat at. There is only one restaurant so it shouldn’t be so hard to find some way to improve.
I am generally not very strict with my ratings but the food was so bad that I need to deducting one star from my rating. Please please please change something because we would love to come back over and over again.
Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel. The excellent customer service truly makes the stay special. We would happily return, but would prefer to eat...
