The overall environment of this resort is quite pleasant, and the large green open space is its main attraction. The staff are generally polite and well-mannered. However, the management seems extremely poor.||1. The rooms are very old and poorly maintained.|2. There’s a strong smell of mold in the rooms. Despite being labeled as non-smoking rooms, most of them reek of cigarette smoke, making it uncomfortable to stay. Even after complaining and getting a room change, all the available rooms had similar issues — mold, smoke, and overpowering air freshener smells.|3. Though there is a telephone in the room, it doesn’t work. When calling the hotel’s number from a mobile phone, they rarely answer. For any help, you have to walk all the way to reception. There’s practically no in-room communication system. The Wi-Fi exists only in name — it doesn’t work.|4. It seems the management has no proper training regarding cleanliness and hygiene. The staff are trying their best, but without adequate tools and supplies, they can only do so much.|5. Basic items were provided in the room, but they were unclean. For example, the electric kettle had limescale buildup (photo attached).|6. The restaurant menu and the food served are totally mismatched. The quality and taste don’t justify even half the price. The breakfast had very limited options.|7. Guests are likely to feel deceived after arriving, judging by the attractive exterior and online ads. The management doesn’t take complaints seriously. If you’re thinking of visiting based on reviews or online promotion, it’s better not to. Most reviews about this resort are negative, and there’s no sign of improvement. It feels like this place is run by people with no idea about the hospitality business.|8. Billing seems to depend on whether or not the guest asks for it. If you don’t ask, you might not get a bill at all. When we requested one, we were told the system was down and to collect it later. But even at checkout, no bill was provided.||To conclude, the resort’s advertisements are misleading and feel like a scam. Please don’t fall for them.||It’s fine to visit during the day to enjoy the greenery and surroundings — but if you’re planning to stay overnight, be ready to be...
Read moreAn insult in the name of hospitality. The establishment is basically open for money, like any business is, but they seem to prey upon people who have saved money to spend a night in luxury.
We booked a villa for 8 people, 2 weeks prior to our day of vacation. We even paid a booking charge of 2,000, which they said is required. Then, on the day of staying, they shifted our rooms to a building which had a big event hall beside it, stating they had VIPs arriving. We had to have individual rooms that were far from each other, so, we could not spend a quality night together.
The rooms were also only slightly better than sleeping on a pavement. They are old and smell funny. The windows don't close properly, and the bathrooms are vent-less. We were given a room with a piece of bolted down plank dividing the other room. Even when we whispered, the other person could hear us, and the curtains absolutely don't close fully. Maybe the management wants to make sure their guests are having a good night's sleep in the middle of the night. Absolutely disgusting.
And the icing on the cake is, we did not even get a discount for their mismanagement. We had even done a photoshoot prior to our stay, and they offered us a discount of NRs. 250. So, yeah. The best way to enjoy Godawari Resort is to not go there. Let your dreams of vacationing remain a dream, because that place is an actual nightmare in reality.
In short. Management is basically on par with Satan (absolutely of no help and utterly disrespectful of our time and money). The staff are always clueless and don't help with anything. The view is decent, except when you have to be weary of a person peeping in from your window. Rooms have no privacy, absolutely abhorrent. But hey, they have a swimming pool where you cannot even sit by and watch your friends enjoy playing in the water even after paying...
Read moreMan, where do I start. I've been to several resorts inside and outside of Kathmandu valley and I had the most terrible experience at Godawari Village Resort. The worst experience ever.
Rooms: Rooms are not clean. AC was constantly leaking water and I had to completely turn it off. The carpets are full of stains. The chairs and desks are so dirty that you think twice before sitting. The bathroom is also not good.
Service: Worst service ever. The word "hospitality" is not in their dictionary. I'll tell you an incident. We had our snacks and some beverages around 7pm at the resort restaurant. By the time we finished our snacks, it was almost time for lunch. Since we're full and it was raining, we asked them if they could deliver a single portion of lunch to our room at around 9pm. The restaurant manager said they can't do that. He says: " It cannot be done, you can eat now". We came to our room and reported the front desk about it. 10mins later, that restaurant manager called on our room landline and said: "I told you it cannot be done. Why did you complain about me? I told you to eat at the restaurant" Dude, seriously? At the end after some arguing with the restaurant manager, they delivered the food to our room.
Earlier during the afternoon, somebody knocked on the door, I opened it and 2-3 guys walked straight inside my room because they wanted to "repair the cable". I didn't even ask for it. They came by themselves. Why tf do you want to disturb your guest who has come to your resort to have some peaceful time? What happened to manners?
Location: This is the only good thing about this place. The area is huge and has lots of gardens and plants.
Food: Below average. The breakfast buffet was the worst I had in my entire life. Cold, bland and very little options...
