Away from hustle and bustle on some extent … most mention worth is the CLEAN TOILETS … decent service … amazing authenticity of real Kathmandu Newari cultural glimpse with its beautiful sculptures and carving along with a mini Museum which is free for the visitors and guest . Thali was amazing unless it’s proportion ( it’s huge) . Hope they should make it smaller in size first , so that the food doesn’t get wasted. The portion should be discussed with the guest before serving . Pool is one of the best fun for me and my kids . So do make a best use of the Clean and big pool . As mentioned before the bathrooms are also neat and clean! Less staff in service but as they all carry walkie talkies , it’s more efficient and quick. Badminton court is one of their best attractions specially for a family physical activity. Nearby Temple is the right location destination for a short hike to pump up your lungs . After diverting from the main road the road condition now seems little rough and cracky . Parking is limited and not so organized which could be the down sizing image for a first visitors . “ First impression is the last impression “ although inner ambiance is far better than that parking space. Don’t judge the book with its cover … guys … According to My experience , business strategy holders ( managers ) seem to be very flexible and easy going . Considerations and co-operation seem to be their Theme. It compelled me to write more as possible about their nature of kind and humble . As the resort is much more into culture preservation, it might not be liked by the kids but I recommend to make our kids to visit such conceptual buildings which might take our kids in this ethical approaches . And this could be their first initiative experience as well as a unique opportunity. I never can stop writing … Please go visit yourself to explore the real value but with less expectations. Engage yourself and kids in the...
Read moreWe didn’t stay overnight. Thanks to a friend who is related to the owner, we had the place to ourselves to celebrate a special evening at Purna’s Museum Resort — and what an experience it was.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place was more than just a resort. It is part cultural center, part retreat, and entirely heartwarming. Nestled in the hills near Kathmandu, it feels worlds away from the busy city.
Though I am not entirely sure if the owners are Newar, the food we had was incredible and reminded me of the rich flavors and textures of traditional Newar cuisine.
One of the highlights was the short hike to a nearby temple up in the mountain. It is a gentle trek, but every step is worth it. As you climb, you pass peaceful trees and the occasional glimpse of prayer flags. Once at the top, the view is absolutely breathtaking. You can see the lush valley, rolling hills, and if you time it right, the golden hour light washes over everything. I even managed to catch a perfect video of a plane flying directly over the setting sun. It looked like something straight out of a dream.
As the evening settled in, the place transformed. The night sky was clear, the air crisp, and the atmosphere incredibly serene. I asked the staff if they could play the Om Mani Padme Hum chant to match the mood. Without hesitation, they found the song and played it through the sound system. It was such a small gesture, but it made the moment feel sacred. I felt incredibly seen and cared for.
The resort also features a stunning wood carving museum. Each piece is crafted with skill and carries a sense of timeless beauty. The museum is filled with windows into Nepal’s artistic soul — intricate designs, mythological figures, and sacred motifs that reflect centuries of culture and craftsmanship.
Highly recommend visiting if you are in the area. Even just for an evening — it is worth every...
Read moreExtremely poor service and highly disappointing experience !
We had gone to this place.. for a shoot and decided to order some food and coffee while we were there. Unfortunately, from the very beginning, the service was a complete disaster. The staff were unprofessional, careless, and lacked even basic hospitality skills.
Especially the girl at the garden reception she was extremely rude and dismissive. Instead of being polite or helpful, she kept unnecessarily explaining things that weren’t needed at all. At one point, we misplaced our belongings and asked her if there was a lost and found section or if she could assist us, but instead of helping, she started lecturing us about keeping our things properly. That was very disrespectful and uncalled for.
When it came to the food service, things got even worse. We ordered just a few items, including coffee, but it took them more than 1.5 hours to serve even a single cup. The staff didn’t communicate, there was no coordination, and no one seemed to care about what was going on. It felt like they were completely ignoring the guests.
To top it all off, when it was time to pay, the bill was shocking.. they had doubled the prices of several items and even added charges for things we never ordered. When we questioned it, they had no proper explanation.
The place might look nice from the outside, but the management and service are terrible. Such unprofessionalism, mismanagement, and lack of responsibility are unacceptable, especially from a place that calls itself a resort.
Overall, a very disappointing and frustrating experience. Would definitely not recommend this...
