We stayed at this resort some time ago. Its location and the lush greenery around are undeniably its strongest features.||||However, despite being set in such a beautiful environment, the resort’s management is shockingly poor. It’s a classic case of “a coconut in the hands of a monkey” — a valuable property ruined by incompetent handling.||||There’s a complete lack of basic hospitality and discipline among the staff. The way some employees speak and behave gives the impression that they own the place. Their attitude is so overbearing that even a simple conversation feels unpleasant.||||What’s more frustrating is the number of restrictions imposed — things you’d never expect unless you actually visit. Taking photos or even walking around the property becomes a hassle, with guards and staff frequently stopping you for questioning. If you’re not a staying guest, you’re not even allowed to click a photo or take a stroll through the premises.||||This kind of approach borders on blackmail. Guests are not informed about these rules before booking — only after arrival are they met with a long list of restrictions.||||Even in high-security areas, you won’t find this level of control. Here, they hide behind the excuse of “privacy” to justify practices that feel more like exploitation. When asked why photos or videos aren’t allowed (even when it doesn’t affect anyone else), they have no clear explanation — just the blanket statement: “It’s the resort’s policy.”||||If these are the rules, fine — but be transparent about them. Make them public and inform guests before they make a reservation.||||The rooms are old, have a strong unpleasant odor, and the overall cleanliness is below expectations. The food is overpriced for what it offers in terms of quality, taste, and portion size.||||Before writing this review, I went through feedback left by other guests. Strangely, the complaints from years ago are still the same today. And instead of addressing them, the resort responds with copy-pasted, generic replies — nothing more.||||If even a fraction of the energy spent on promotional campaigns had gone into actual improvements, today’s guest experiences would’ve been different.||||The management needs to realize that marketing alone can’t sustain a business. It was an absolute pleasure to visit Gokarna Forest Resort, located in tranquil environment, and the natural fascination lured me during my stay there . Situated inside the serene Gokarna Protected Forest yet only 10 kilometers from Kathmandu city and Tribhuvan International Airport the Gokarna Forest Resort is situated on what was historically the private royal hunting ground of the erstwhile Kings of Nepal. We visited Gokarna Resort in the last week of June 2018. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely courteous, the food was delicious and most importantly their rooms are spacious with a super comfy bed. The resort is very peaceful and an ideal place to relax far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. On the whole we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay and would love to go back whenever we get a chance. Steeped in rich historical and cultural significance the main complex of the resort is a remarkable blend of Malla and Rana period architecture. The resort sits within 470 acres of the ancient Gokarna Forest with the majestic Himalayas providing a dramatic backdrop. For me Gokarna Forest Resort is just one of the many resorts I would like to visit again and again. There are so many reasons why. The ambiance is awesome. Every single staff from the bottom to the top are so cultured, well mannered so courteous and always so obliging. The management has really trained their staff very well. The service, food, rooms and amenities are of a very high standard. We were looked after very well wherever we went in the resort. Hats off to one and all who have made Gokarna Forest Resort one of the best in Nepal. little peace of paradise amid the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. It's a tranquil welcome. Grounds immaculate with the chance to see deer, birds and monkeys. Staff friendly professional and welcoming. Food to suit all tastes and huge array drinks. Then to top it off a most wonderful spa , with deluxe treatment. Looking for supreme relax after a hard trek or just a wonderful hotel, do yourself a favor book this hotel. Absolutely worth it. Besides this there is a lot more to talk about this place, the gulf yard. The temperature controlled swimming pools, the sauna and the awesome experience in zakusi. The gym over there and the massage facility wow beyond the...
