We spent 2 nights in this lodge, we really enjoy the quiet of this place, really peacefull. The conservatory was very warm, its was so lovely to eat our meal inside. We washed our clothes also, they were very friendly. I recommand this place if you plan to make a stop here.

We stayed in this teahouse on our 14 day trek to Gokyo. The amenties and food are similar to the other teahouses we stayed in. We had 2 issues with this property: first, was the manner in which we were treated by the owner. He was abrupt and rude throughout our stay. At one point, my husband noticed that the table next to us had cooked tomatoes on their dinner and he asked to have some. He asked the server if the kitchen could throw them on a pan for a few minutes (given that 60% of all trekkers get travelers diarrhea at some point, we had been advised by our guides not to eat raw veggies) and the owner yelled across the dining room "the kitchen is too busy for that." We were surprised by his response given that everyone else we came in contact with in Nepal was incredibly gracious and helpful. The second issue came when we were presented with our bill for the night and it was significantly higher than we expected. We were travelling with a trekking company so our breakfast, lunch and dinner was included in our stay. However, unlike in any other lodge we stayed in, here we were limited to 1 cup of tea and 1 item from the menu for each meal. We were not informed of this difference. We found the portion sizes in many places much larger than we could eat, so given that everything must be carried in by porters and animals, we often ordered a half portion of a meal. Then if we were still hungry, we would order something additional (not the other half of the dal baht but an order of papad or soup for example). He insisted that we pay separately for anything additional that we ordered after we put our initial order in, even though we were generally only ordering half portions of food and had not been limited to 1 menu item and 1 cup of tea in any other teahouse. The owner became angry when I questioned the charges and tried to explain that we had not experienced this anywhere else. He accused me of not understanding how things work in Nepal and how expensive things like water are in Nepal. Given that I was on vacation, I opted not to argue with him and paid the bill. But I would not recommend this teahouse given our...

We stayed in this lodge on our trek to Gokyo. The Teahouse itself is a fairly standard Teahouse comparable to all of the others we stayed in on our 14 day trek (although it was the only one we stayed in that did not have a western toilet anywhere, but that wasn’t a big deal). We had 2 issues: one was that the owner was quite rude to us. At dinner, my husband asked to have his tomatoes cooked (Our guide had recommended that we avoid raw veggies!) and when the server took them to the kitchen, the owner literally yelled across the common room,” the kitchen is too busy for that.” We were surprised by his attitude because we found the people in Nepal incredibly welcoming and kind. Every interaction with him was abrupt. Then the next morning when we were presented with our bill, it was far more than we had expected. We discovered that he charges differently than every other Teahouse we stayed in as well. We were with a trekking company so he is paid a flat fee for our stay and breakfast, lunch and dinner was included. However, in this Teahouse, that means 1 cup of tea and 1 menu item per meal. Anything more than this is charged separately. He tried to tell us that this is done in all Teahouses, however that was not our experience anywhere else. We were trying to be responsible by ordering half portions and then ordering a second item if we were still hungry, given that everything is transported by porters to this area, so we did not want to waste food. Even though we had only eaten a half portion of a meal, he still charged us for the second item that was ordered. His response was “I won’t make any money off of you if I don’t do...

Our rest day at the Namgyal Lodge was one of my favourite day. There is this great sun room where you can rest/eat during a day and it's so warm you can truly recharge your battery. We had a room with attached toilet. Clean and basic. A bit expensive but the food is very nice and owners are very helpful and welcoming. That you for making our 2 day stop so pleasant. Also on the positive site you can contact them directly to book the room and the communication is first class! Thank you for all your support guys, keep up a food work and...
