Visited during my birthday week. we stayed on a weekday, it was peaceful, with only four other groups. Booking was easy. I messaged them on WhatsApp, and they arranged a private vehicle for us. Our driver was a local, which was a bonus, especially since we brought our family dog along. While we had a minor issue with the army at the entrance, the resort staff was understanding, and once we arrived, it was clear that we’d feel right at home.
The guards, restaurant staff, and manager were all welcoming. room was beautifully decorated with Nepali accent pieces and organic touches.
Despite being deep in the village, the Wi-Fi worked flawlessly throughout the resort. we had to leave early the next morning (around 6 AM), but staff said okay to our request to shift breakfast to lunch or even prepare an early meal for us. Mad props.
There are multiple hiking trails nearby, and we found a helpful guidebook in our room detailing the routes. food was incredible, though a bit more than we could finish hehe. The staff was more than happy to offer refills.
Then came the biggest surprise…after dessert, they casually asked, “So when do we bring the cake?” I hadn’t expected the person I booked with arranged birthday cake, but to my surprise, the hotel staff not only got one but also played the song and sang for me. Celebrating with a group of strangers somehow made the moment even more special.
The farm itself has plenty of activities , mushroom and strawberry picking (some of the best strawberries I’ve ever had!), watching cows being milked, and guided tours of the space, all included at no extra cost.
If there’s one small area for improvement, it’s the in-room coffee and tea sachets. They didn’t match the resort’s quality, and the sugar sachets seemed a bit crystallized. Why don’t you partner with Suiro teas and Coffee of promise? And don’t offer unlimited satchets but limited to keep high quality option. But that’s a minor thing in an otherwise perfect stay.
During our stay, we saw a group leaving, blasting music and smoking, which was annoying for a few minutes but didn’t ruin the overall experience since they left soon
y appreciate how the resort welcomed not just me but also my dog. The staff went out of their way to ensure she was comfortable, even offering to dispose of her waste responsibly, though we had planned to take it back with us to Kathmandu.
respect and cherish this place for what it is. a retreat into nature, not just another vacation spot.Would definitely...
Read moreWe visited Prakriti Resort and Organic Farm in mid-May with our 2-year-old son and had a lovely stay overall. While the haze unfortunately blocked any views of the snow-capped mountains, we were still able to enjoy beautiful views of the valley below.
One of the highlights of our trip was the Jeep Jungle Safari to Dhap Dam. While there's not much to do at the dam itself beyond taking in the peaceful water views, the journey through the jungle in the jeep made it a fun and memorable experience. We also really enjoyed the guided garden tour through the property. Our guide was kind enough to let us sample fresh peaches and strawberries along the way. The farm's commitment to sustainability was impressive—from composting and recycling to raising chickens, cows, and buffalo. It’s clear they are truly one of the pioneering eco-hotels in the Kathmandu Valley, and the gardens were bursting with colorful flowers during our stay.
Our accommodations were decent. We initially stayed in a deluxe room situated midway up the mountain, but I would recommend booking one of the newer rooms at the top of the mountain that includes two beds (Queen and Single)—those seemed more updated and comfortable.
The food was OK overall. With the emphasis on organic farming, we had high hopes for the meals. Most of the menu featured Nepali cuisine, along with some Indian dishes. If you enjoy traditional local food, you'll likely be satisfied, but we were expecting something a bit more standout given the resort’s organic ethos.
The service, however, was truly excellent. The staff went above and beyond to be kind, supportive, and accommodating throughout our visit. When our 2009 Mahindra Scorpio struggled with the steep, muddy drive leading to the resort, the team promptly arranged to pick us up from Trout Village Restaurant nearby. That said, newer 4x4 automatics should be able to handle the road just fine.
All in all, we had a wonderful experience at Prakriti Resort. It’s a peaceful, eco-conscious getaway with a lot of heart—and definitely worth a visit, especially for families and...
