Still looking for the reason why this should be a 4-star hotel. Except of the very fancy interieur of the main building its just a bluff. The receptonists are not even dressed in uniform
To all the femal travellers please pay attention to no book the so called comfort plus rooms as the are not in their main building and are located in a building that locks like a motel or even an hourly hotel and the doors can not be locked extra.
I am also negatively suprised by their standards. The rooms are outdated, smell super weird, are not looking cozy at all and the the velvet looks very very cheap (had to take it off my bed immediately).
The rooms are super dark, even with all the lights on because you have to close the window curtains for privacy reasons also during the day. No chances to do your makeup properly in the dark bathroom.
The staff was not able to provide me with any support as all the other guests who booked a room in the main building seemed to be only women as well. And blamed be for not having read the fine print about the rooms, recommendation to the hotel put it in your room description (my recommendation: comfort room plus located in small building next to the hotel - looks like and actually is a motel but we charge you more than for the renovated rooms in the main building)
And if you plan to use their gym then you will be even more dissappointed. A small room with approx. 7 outdated machines can not be considered a properly staffed gym nowadays.
Never...
Read moreThis time, I chose the "Van der Valk Hotel Nuland - 's-Hertogenbosch" for my stay. My room was in the annex on the first floor. These first-floor rooms are only accessible by stairs, which I hadn't noticed when booking. It was a spacious room with room for three people. The equally spacious bathroom has a separate shower, toilet, and bathtub. The bathroom is separated from the living and sleeping areas by a sliding door. The desk is approximately 2 meters wide and offers a workspace for two people, for example, with a laptop or tablet (including two chairs). There is also a landline phone on the desk. There are also two lounge chairs and a small table. The TV is mounted on the wall above the desk. The room has air conditioning. The room also has ample closet space, which also includes a small refrigerator and coffee and tea facilities. I also saw a safe. I even spotted a Van der Valk umbrella (available for loan or purchase) in one of these cabinets. Besides the excellent beds (sleeping 2 + 1 = 3), there are plenty of electrical outlets. The lighting and air conditioning in the room are also well-managed. Regarding breakfast, I have every confidence that it is also excellent here at Van der Valk. The staff is super professional and service-oriented. I was even offered a welcome drink of my choice, which for me turned out to be...
Read moreUpdate after an offered make-up dinner: In a much more relaxed atmosphere on a still busy Saturday evening the staff showed us that the Christmas dinner 2023 was a mistake. The make up dinner was serviced pleasantly and the food was great. The staf checked frequently and made sure all was satisfactory for us. Great evening and would recommend going there. The make-up dinner is well appreciated; Thank you!
2023 On invite we went for a Christmas dinner. We had a 4hr dinner in which we got served 2 out of 4 ordered dishes some drinks and a coffee. Fair to say the restaurant was packed and the personnel were running and sweating to get food and drinks to all the tables. But it was also clear they couldn't handle this amount of tables to service. Also the kitchen had problems to get the right food out in time. Most food was cold by the time it got serviced. I'm sure they could do a great job if there were less people to service but tonight they simply...
