My experience at this hotel was not even close to reasonable. My friend and I spent the day at the Walibi amusement park. When it started to rain and everything was closing, we decided that it would be too difficult to go back home, since we live almost 3 hours away and do not own a car (we came by train). Therefore, we booked a room with a double bed on booking.com because the princess hotel was the closest one to us. Although booking.com gave this hotel an excellent rating, which is why i booked it, it was most definitely not. First of all, the hotel is not close to any bust stops and there are no nearby stores to be able to purchase basic necessities. Although the hotel website says it takes 25 min by foot to get the bus stop, it actually takes approximately 45 minutes walking on grass because there were no sidewalks anywhere. We called the hotel and asked for help getting there but they could not "reach" their driver. Thus, we tried to cancel but they could not help us with that either and neither could booking.com, so they sent a taxi where we had to pay 25 euros for a 10 min ride. Arriving to the hotel, with soaking wet clothes and nothing else to wear, we go up to our room where we find 2 towels and that is ALL. No shampoo, no conditioner, no small toothpaste, shower caps, nothing. So we took a shower without anything to wash our hair and called the reception to ask for some food since we did not have any clothes to wear and could not leave the room. We then found out that they do not have room service even though there is a restaurant menu in the room, and also told us that the kitchen at the restaurant closes at 9 pm. We ask if they have any robes we could borrow but the answer once again is no. We put on our wet clothes and walk to the restaurant which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, in the dark, because there were no lights and when we get there the cheapest thing on the menu is a 15 euro bolognese pasta that was not even good. We pretty much had to beg to be attended at the restaurant because nobody seemed to care enough to stop and ask us for our order. When we got back to the hotel, the reception was closed and therefore we went through the side entrance which we were told to do. However, our card would not open the door, but thankfully one other guest opened the door to let us in because otherwise we would have been stuck outside in the cold for the whole night. We also paid 20 euros on a bottle of wine but the quality was terrible. We most definitely did not enjoy our stay and I would not...
Read moreWe arrived mid-Afternoon to eventually be ‘greeted’ by a stern young man on reception who requested payment on check-in. Unorthodox but we obliged. We were informed that after 11pm the reception was unmanned.||We’d paid for a superior room (#41) but aside from a little more space and a bathtub was far from ‘superior’ and lacked tea & coffee facilities. In addition the air circulator was faulty.||The hotel has a shotgun school and hosts corporate events and it was this aspect that marred what would have been an acceptable stay. Those enjoying the corporate hospitality retired from the bar at just after 1am and everyone knew it! One individual was locked out and proceeded to batter the door below our room to gain access. Then we had other persons running about on the corridor/ room above. About as far from a Peaceful stay as one could wish which was a shame as the hotel is in a delightful spot. ||I called at reception to ask for a manager but alas none were on duty although the receptionist did offer for one to call me but no call was received.||The reason for two stars was purely down to a very obliging young man in the restaurant who looked after us a treat, otherwise it would have been one. ||Management; if you’re going to ply your corporate guests with drink as long as they can stand have the decency to shepherd them to bed. You should be ashamed of Your dereliction of responsibility to your...
