Do not leave your cottage number up to chance. Make sure you contact the Parc to ask for a newly refurbished or new build cabin. We used the online reservation option, you select what type of stay you want (quiet/close to the dome/near reception) etc and we chose ‘quiet’ and to be surrounded by the woods. We chose cabin 634 and the photos online looked nice.
On arrival our cabin was disgusting. As soon as we walked in we were met with the smell of years and years of cigarette smoke followed closely by the smell of the toilet-I’m guessing the septic tank was very full.
The smell was awful and overwhelming. After doing a bit of unpacking we started to notice just how dirty the cabin was. We have a 1 year old who loves to crawl all over the place, so I didn’t wait for cleaning services to come-I cleaned the worst bits myself. Eventually we noticed so much that my husband went to reception to complain for a second time and eventually we were moved into a renovated cabin which was COMPLETELY different in terms of standards. Old cabin-634 Rotten wood windows (the one in the baby room wouldn’t close). Filth down the walls. Stinking of cigarettes and poop. Old tired beds and sofa. Sofa was dirty when we arrived. Radiator didn’t work in main bedroom. Stuff started falling off the ceiling so when I went to get into our freshly made bed there was dirt over it.
New cabin-140 Smelled clean. Double glazed, new plastic window frames, windows closed nicely. Heating working in all rooms. Clean everywhere. Toilet was fine, no stink. Sofa was clean, beds newer with newer pillows and duvets. A completely different experience.
I truly don’t understand the point in selling stays in cabin 634. It’s like time forgot it and nobody ever stays there. It’s a shame because the location was EXACTLY what I wanted. It was deep in the woods, out of each window you could see forest and it was quiet. 140 is right by the playground and close to the dome. We were very frustrated to be told that this center parcs is not a ‘5 star camping’. We didn’t want 5 star, we didn’t expect it. What we DO expect is basic cleanliness!! We expect to not be met with a cloud of poop and cigarettes every time we came back to the cabin!!
On another note the dome is lovely (it needs a bit of work, it too looks a bit outdated). The staff in the restaurants and cafes have all been really really lovely and helpful. The store inside is very expensive but the supermarket Jumbo is very close.
Obviously this parc needs some love in various areas. We will come again but next time I will make sure I select a newly built or renovated cabin. Photos- Dirt that fell from the ceiling onto newly made bed. Filthy sofa cushions. Dirty bathroom floor Disgusting floor in baby...
Read moreIt was my first trip to a Center Parc....I would absolutely not recommend and never ever go there again, at least not this one. I booked a vip house with 2 bedrooms and sauna. When I arrived with my 2yo at 3:30pm, we did the checkin and were told the bungalow would be available 20min later. I asked to use the bathroom, fully expecting there would ve a changing table because every mcdonalds has one.....there was none at the reception area and when i asked ..." in the bungalow"...well then. Went there, opened the door...and found a freezing, dark and very very dirty bungalow. Spiderwebs everywhere, dust, dirt from outside - looked like no one had been there for weeks. I called reception and someone came to give a cleaning. I should have stayed inside because when I came back, the bungalow was still not clean, so i called again and again and texted until finally someone came again...they cleaned again and it looked okish....but there were still weird fly bugs around. Next morning, my sons room was covered with them. I cleaned, rhinking maybe they were already there the day before. 30 min later, after breakfast,i opened the door again and I saw a complete nightmare....bugs all over. So i tried calling reception BUT NO ONE WOULD ANSWER. So i texted again and they said someone would come check, leave a note and that i would not have ro wait. So i went to the pool...wow how old can this place really be....crazy. looks like from 50 years ago and never modernised.baby pool dirty. Well....when came out of the pool later, I saw I had a missed call from reception (note, of course no note left in my bungalow). I called and they said that someone came but they cant do anyrhing because pest control makes the bungalow unusable dor 3 days. I asked what the solution was (i honestly didnt want to move, no energy...) and they said well keep the door closed...ehm ok...I said well.and is there a bungalow vailable...so I moved to another one which was ok but very far fron clean. No one offered help, and i had to go back to reception for exchange of bracelet. Sexond bungalow had differed and lacking equopment vut was supposed to be same....I did get something in return but this does by no means make up for this horrible experience. Very outdated, nor well kept nor cleaned....supposed to be for kids but ridiculously lacking
Only bonus point, shout out to the lady at Grabber...
Read morePeaceful stay, but some disappointing aspects
We had a great stay at Center Parcs Limburgse Peel. Even though all the accommodations were fully booked during our visit, the park remained wonderfully calm and quiet — something we really appreciated. The houses are cleverly joined, and we never once heard our neighbours, which made for a peaceful and relaxing experience.
There are activities available for all ages, which is great if you’re looking to keep the whole family entertained. However, we were disappointed by the quality and number of playgrounds. Compared to other Center Parcs locations, there are very few playgrounds here, and most of them are quite basic. The main one is really the only one worth visiting — but even that had sand that was absolutely filthy, which was a shame.
One of our biggest frustrations was with the pony rides. These are advertised on Limburgse Peel’s website as if they are available on site, but they’re not. The pony rides are actually at Center Parcs Het Meerdal, which is across the road — a 30-minute walk away. That’s not exactly practical when you have a toddler with you. When we asked about it at reception, the staff weren’t helpful. We were told to call Het Meerdal ourselves to inquire and book. And when we asked for the phone number, we were simply told to “look it up on Google.” If you’re advertising this activity as part of your own park’s offering, the staff should at least be able to assist in booking it or provide the correct contact information.
The pool at Limburgse Peel is fun, and our little one enjoyed it, but it’s quite basic and could really use some updating. There are very few showers or toilets, which we already noticed during a quiet period — so it’s hard to imagine how crowded and inconvenient it might get during peak times.
All in all, while we enjoyed the peacefulness and had a lovely stay, several elements of the park felt underwhelming — especially compared to other Center Parcs we’ve visited. With better maintenance and more accurate communication about the facilities, this park could offer a much more enjoyable experience for families with...
