This newly opened restaurant at the waterside has great food, and that is what eating out is about… or not? It was immediately evident that something has to be done about the acoustics. The music, especially the thumping bass, was very loud, and because we couldn’t hear one another talking across the table we asked to turn it down a little. We were told we were not the first to ask (!!) but they would ‘ask at the bar’. It was turned down a little, but then you heard all the noise from the people around you and it was still hard to hear one another. A complete miss. |The waiters/waitresses still need training, or perhaps they think why would I serve you if I get my money anyway? Between our main course and dessert we waited for 15 minutes for someone to fill our glasses. Then we tried to flag, but the 4 people at the bar (supposedly waiting tables) were too busy doing nothing, or laying tables with napkins and glasses and and subsequently removing them again. So another 30 minutes passed with two people of our company waving hands almost continously and getting more irritated all the time. Read moreI discovered this place during a business lunch, and I have to say it was a really pleasant surprise. The restaurant is surrounded by nature, right in front of a lake, with a charming bucolic atmosphere. We had lunch on a beautiful terrace overlooking the water, and the view alone was worth the visit, especially on such a sunny day.
The restaurant is tastefully decorated, with great attention to detail, and you can feel the effort in creating a welcoming vibe. The service was warm and friendly, and very efficient: they quickly brought us drinks and recommended a chicken dish served inside a naan bread, which turned out to be delicious for both of us.
Within just a few minutes everything was on the table, and the prices are absolutely reasonable. All in all, a place I’ve saved and where I’ll be happy to return if I’m ever back...
Read moreThis hotel and restaurant go all out to make your stay memorable. The food was delicious. We had truffle soup, the Zealand oysters. Risotto and even had room for Rendang croquets all washed down with a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. The staff were very attentive although busy as the restaurant attracts not only travellers but lots of locals. The alfresco area overlooking the Kraaijenbergse Plassen had the best tables without a doubt.
We stayed overnight and had a very nice breakfast the next morning. Highly...
