Cabins were ok, but no TV, even though they were advertised on the website photos. Bedrooms were very small , could just about walk around the bed. Instructions for the kitchen appliances might have been handy as we couldn't figure the oven out. The park itself was ok , found the restaurant on site a bit expensive and the shop was poorly stocked. Staff at the restaurant were also a bit slow to take orders, a lot of standing around chatting. Entertainment was also just ok. There's not really much going on for the kids during the day unless you wanted to pay extra. We had issues towards the end of our stay with the hot water not working. Several people were sent up to look at it, but there was no solution as they just said it happens when it's busy due to low water pressure, not really great when you're trying to wash dishes and have showers. We also had a problem with Rats entering our cabin , half a bag of bread rolls were eaten through, and again went to reception but no real solution other than they would look into it. We found the pool at times a bit crazy , kids jumping in on top of you , firing balls at each other , witnessed 2 separate incidents of people getting hit by them and hurt , one child came out crying, staff were lovely but not really able to see everything that was going on. The outside pool area was ok but would benefit from some extra chairs / sun loungers , nowhere near enough for the number of people staying. Outdoor playground was lovely, but unfortunately, my children got bullied twice by a gang of other kids, and the second time it happened, my 12 year old was choked by an older boy , we reported it to the staff and they went and gave out to them , apparently it was the second incident with the same group. Left us feeling a bit uneasy, especially as we witnessed the whole thing. Location was lovely with a beautiful nature park nearby and the Efteling theme park. Overall, it was ok, but with the issues we had, I wouldn't stay...
Read moreAh, behold the masterpiece of "luxury" that is Holiday home rental Het Genieten. Prepare to be dazzled by its minuscule rooms that redefine the term "cozy," offering an experience akin to living in a shoebox—because who needs space, right? The rooms are so intimate that you'll find yourself on first-name terms with every corner and crevice.
But that's not all! Let's talk about the architectural marvel that is the complete plastic house. Yes, you heard that right. It's as if the creators decided that real materials were too passé and opted for plastic, just like that Ikea furniture you bought in college. This plastic haven of opulence lets you experience the joys of living in a life-sized Barbie Dream House, complete with all the frills of artificial grandeur.
And now, the pièce de résistance—the "Luxury camp" advertisement. I mean, really, what's more luxurious than sleeping in a structure that wouldn't withstand a mild gust of wind? As you sip your overpriced instant coffee in the morning, surrounded by plastic walls and tiny rooms, you can almost hear the sounds of nature—specifically, the birds laughing at your "luxury camp" experience.
But wait, there's a silver lining! Amidst the eye-wateringly small rooms and plastic façade, Het Genieten becomes the ultimate urban family hideout. In a world obsessed with the "artificial," this plastic haven serves as a testament to our determination to bring the synthetic into our lives. It's like a microcosm of our modern existence—crammed spaces, manufactured experiences, and a whole lot of style over substance.
So, as you luxuriate in your plastic paradise, take a moment to revel in the ingenuity of it all. Because in a world where bigger, better, and more authentic experiences abound, Het Genieten boldly declares, "Who needs authenticity when you can have plastic perfection?" Truly, a masterpiece in the art of...
Read moreBooked Monday to Monday, today is Thursday so week not over but I'm leaving a review anyway. Firstly THIS IS NOT EURO PARCS! Us and a few others we talked to drove into Euro PARCS, about 3 mins drive nearer to Efteling, and were told quite rudely by the front desk at EuroParcs that we had booked at EuroCamp, down the road. Do not make this mistake. EuroParcs is walkable to Efteling, here at Marvilla PARCS / Euro Camp it's about an hour's walk, so it's best to drive the 9 minutes there and pay to park (or stay nearer). Having said that, this place is rather good, if a little new and rough around the edges. It's right on The Dunes, which are great for a walk, and play with kids. There's a kids club which was OK. There a great outdoor play area. We are staying in a Roan chalet, so it's rather good, but small niggles, the entry barrier hasn't recognised our number plate, so we've had to buzz to be let in, when it should be automatic (not a problem during the day when the barrier is open). We're situated right at the far end so countryside views, wildlife, and cows, but also they're obviously expanding so there works going on too, but not that intrusive. Great indoor swimming pool, two sections, 1.25m deep for swimming, and a splash play area for little children. Overall thumbs up and I'd probably come here again. EDIT TO ADD - the kitchen closes at 8pm, and the pizza vending machine is currently not working and it's 8.05, and we have hungry kids who want Pizza! ANOTHER EDIT - pizza vending machine back up and working, margherita...
