We reserved a bungalow with 4 bedrooms for two weeks. The house was spacious, with a big sitting, eating and cooking area. It was well equipped with gas stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, vacuum cleaner, mops, brooms and buckets. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived. It was nicely situated in a wooded area with a pretty view from every window. We found the beds a little narrow, compared with beds in North America, but comfortable. Our family rented bikes at the park, which enabled us to bike to town and take some trips through the surrounding picturesque countryside. Because we were a large family group, it would have been nice to have had a second toilet and shower and a second parking space. Our youngest family member enjoyed the playground, the playroom adjacent to the park restaurant and the petting zoo. Some of our family members enjoyed using the park swimming pool, which the found very clean and well equipped. We also found the park laundromat clean and well equipped, although it was more expensive than we would have liked. The park has a well stocked grocery store/ bakery/ delicatessen which we found very convenient. The park restaurant/ cafe was excellent. We enjoyed some very good meals there, and on one occasion, were able to entertain a large family group of 39 there. Our only complaint is that they are not open for breakfast. We would highly recommend this vacation park, and would definitely stay...
Read moreWe were three guests staying at Summio in Putten. On the day of our check-out, we went to the reception to request an extension of our stay for four additional nights, as we had truly enjoyed our time there.
To our surprise, the receptionist mentioned that she first needed to consult with the manager to confirm whether we could remain in the same accommodation. At that time, however, we could clearly see on Booking.com that several accommodations were available, including houses with two, three, and even four bedrooms.
After some waiting, the receptionist informed us that we could not extend our stay because there was not enough cleaning staff available. As a result, we were not allowed to remain in the same house, nor were we offered the possibility to move to another unit that was already listed as available.
This explanation was difficult to understand. If accommodations were indeed available, it was unclear why we were not able to book one of them. Unfortunately, it gave us the impression that our request was simply not welcomed, without any reasonable explanation provided.
It was a disappointing experience, especially considering how much we had otherwise enjoyed our stay and...
Read moreOverall we really enjoyed our stay. Our aim was to find a central spot and tour around mostly so we didn't take full advantage of the village services like bikes and mini golf. We did go to the pool almost every afternoon. We were aware that this village had a bit less than others for the kids like no indoor playground but it was fine as our aim was to travel around. If you're looking to get away from city rush than this is the place. The towns Putten and Ermelo are really cute and nice to go grab a bite. Make sure to see where the morning markets are in nearby cities and take at least one morning to go experience it. It has a local feel and good prices on cheeses and baked goods. We got our deal through an Agency so it wasn't clear to us that we would be making our own beds after 8 hours of travel at 10pm. It's not a big deal just came as a surprise. Our cabin wasn't smoke free and when we turned on the heater the smoke smell took over. If you're sensitive make sure to get a cabin where only non smokers stayed. Overall we enjoyed the experience and would certainly consider...
