Camping Krabbeplaat — Hotel in Voorne aan Zee

Good childhood memories from this campsite when I was a kid. Visited this recently and it completely lost its vibe. Weird large tents where previously there were trees. All buildings are in severe decay and the food in the restaurant was really bad. I paid I think 18 euros for a schnitzel with some fries. SUPER overpriced as the schnitzel was definitely not fresh. No people in the recreational area but that isn't strange when there are no activities in the evening. The building where in the past there were various activities was now used for storage.

The only good this is that the field at the water has been improved but AFAIK that isn't done/maintained at the campsite

Large site with seasonal placements and lodges. Touring pitches are available of a good size with tap, drainage & hookup. We hadn't pre-booked but used our out-of-season discount card, friendly greeting at reception, booked in and were allocated a pitch. Pitches were of a good size the weather was very hot for this time of year and all touring pitches soon filled up on a Friday evening. Facilities were of a good standard and cleaned at regular intervals and were never over busy. Good range of facilities large playground. Nice helpful staff. Very good wifi across the site.

€1.80 passenger ferry runs till 6 pm over to the village with facilities church and traditional windmill.

There was no other campsite available from Amsterdam to Rotterdam after calling around on the day that we were staying.

However they could have warned us about the entertainment. The once a week entertainment on a Friday night is Very loud from 9pm till 1 am. We had a buildng between us and the music and inside a motorhome but was still kept up. There are two competing Cockerell chickens who scream from sunrise for an hour.
