We booked three houses with a spa as a group. After two months, we suddenly received a cancellation without any good alternative. We had booked activities in the neighborhood of this park. The only other option they could offer us was a park 30 minutes' drive away. Eventually, we had to book a different house in this town to avoid even higher costs of taking a taxi (with 18 people) to the location. We had stayed at this park for three years already and never had a bad experience before. However, this experience and the park's communication will ensure I never go there again.
They told us our booking was canceled due to Ukrainian refugees placed there by the local authority. This turned out to be untrue, but they had made an agreement with local authorities that the refugees could stay there. The park indicated that this was a case of force majeure, which was not true. They retracted what they told us earlier but still had no other option than canceling our booking or offering the other park.
In the end, they canceled our booking, refunded our money, and we had to find something else in less than a month. At the very least, I had expected them to compensate a part of the more than €1800 extra we had to spend on a stay. However, they were absolutely unwilling to find a middle ground and a solution for both parties.
I will never book at this park or any other Topparken accommodation ever again. They can apparently always claim they made an agreement with someone else and say it is out of their hands, and there is nothing they can do to find a solution.
This part in the general terms and conditions, please also check this really well as a foreigner: 10. Force Majeure Force majeure on the part of TopParken exists if the execution of the agreement is wholly or partially, whether temporarily or not, prevented by circumstances beyond the control of TopParken, including in any case strikes, blockades, fire, and other disruptions and/or events. TopParken is entitled to provide the tenant with an equivalent replacement accommodation/camping pitch if the rented property is unavailable due to force...
Read moreWonderful - exceeded my expectations by a long way. Any pre stay queries were answered rapidly and thoroughly - great system in place for late arrivals, secure park as it's a barrier entry/exit. Little 2 bed home was exactly as shown/chosen on booking, immaculately clean, spacious & brilliantly laid out - toilet separate from walk in shower room, quality integrated kitchen appliances, lots of pots/pans/casserole dishes, utensils crockery and glassware, Lor coffee machine (takes original Nespresso pods or Douwe Egberts) and a glassware coffee pot if that is your preference. Good free storage for your own purchases, including a bread bin. Full sized fridge freezer and dishwasher - oven is a small combi (mostly everything will cook well, but not frozen chips), 4 ring gas hob. Welcome pack is great, 2 cleaning cloths, a dish scrubber sponge, a plastic long handled dish scrubber, a small tube of dishwashing liquid, one dishwasher pod, sugar sachets, several individual pack tea bags, several coffee pods, and a mini travel rituals set, shower gel, hair and body wash, soap square, conditioner and body cream and 1 toilet roll. Beds are small sized but functional, bedding surprisingly warm to be so light weight - one of the rooms had a second good sized TV in the double slide wardrobe. Outdoor space is divine and peaceful, large parasol completes the space with the table and lounger chairs. Booked to stay 4 nights but regretting that we did not stay a week minimum. The park is easy to do, with lovely nature embracing grounds, there are ducks and water fowl on the ponds and it's wonderfully serene to watch their little ways. There is a decent heated outdoor pool just off to the side of the snack bar near reception - although we knew it is seasonal (May to October) before we booked, and a small but fun playground across from snack bar/near reception. We did not get enough time to fully enjoy the park itself. Easy to do place, loved the simplicity here. Check out as easy as it goes, with friendly...
Read moreWhat a disaster!!! I am still traumatised from the experience. Firstly, it was freezing cold and the heater in the one bedroom and the bathroom didnt work. Then the horeca facilities were closed all day on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday; and Thursday till 15.00. At check-out time they ask you to give an authorization to take €100 off your bank account in the event that you break something in the chalet. After putting up a fuss they agreed to send two housekeeping interns with me to inspect the chalet to check for broken property. There was no evidence, but that was just the beginning. It felt surreal the gestapo-style humiliation and interrogation those two intern girls put me through. My poor 3 little children were waiting in the car for 1 hour while every insult under the sun was hurled at me. They falsely accused me of so many housekeeping transgressions that honestly a prisoner in a maximum security prison is treated with more respect. The irony is that never in my 46 years have I ever left a holiday accommodation cleaner than at this place. They were ordering me about to move the cushion covers to a certain place on the floor, falsely accusing me of stealing tea cups, telling me I had to throw away the garbage and an empty chewing gum paper from a cupboard, that my vacuuming was not sufficient ...it was total craziness. Was this a charade to justify taking €100 extra off my bank account? I returned to reception to ask them this. I was so upset by then that my voice was raised and I tried to plead for reason in my broken Dutch, only to be humiliated and scolded by the father of the reception worker who happened to be in the room and obviously also works at this place. To top it off they double charged me for house pets, €36 off my credit card, and €36 which they forced me to pay by pin at check out. As I said, I am still...
