When a restaurant starts off their 4 or 10 course dinner with the body of Christ handed to you in a set of prayer hands, how could you not expect a heavenly experience?

And that is exactly what we got at both the restaurant and the hotel. The dinner was fabulous and the room and the location amazing.

The food was subtle, local and surprising. The room was modern and gorgeous. The three course breakfast was like the dinner and absolutet treat—like “-angels pissing on your tongue” as the Dutch expression goes.

Now expect to pay a costly ticket into heaven, but one that is well worth it.

There’s two small points to note, I was surprised the dinner does not come with a wine pairing even-though they do have a good sommelier. A bit of a sin to let that slide. Second, the music, in a monastery type of setting you expect perhaps more St John and less John Legend.

Music can be such a tone setter for a place that should have Michelin start ambitions, and soft jazz while surrounded by bricks from the 1400’s just seems out of tone.

If you’re comfortable service the body of Christ pick some music to match that vibe. That being said, Zutphen in general and this hotel in general are a slice of heaven not...

We booked 2 nights at the hotel with the focus on a culinary experience. We were not disappointed.|From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed, the atmosphere there feels good.|The amount of restoration done on this building is unbelievable and as much as possible kept in the original style.|We had a monastery room and all the small details had been well thought out, even down to the wc being separate from the bathroom ( always a plus point)|The restaurant was immaculate, friendly staff and an extremely organized kitchen.|The whole evening was full of surprises from beginning to end.|Delicious food served as it should be, food for the eyes and the stomach.|The bed in the room was like sleeping on a cloud and the hotel was so quiet through the night, you certainly get a good nights rest.|The next morning the surprises kept on coming ,breakfast was out of this world.|You get a menu to browse over but don’t need to choose because you get a taster of everything.|Delicious coffee and of course the bubbles made it extra special.|100%...

Zeer...

Situated right next to the shopping streets, the hotel building gives special feeling with high ceilings and beams. Combined with uncovered old brick walls, some parts show old stone tiles too. Then be prepared for a very creative kitchen. Taste were great, presentation were amusing, and the service was just lovely. Do not skip the 3-course breakfast. They were just superb. We are dully impressed.
