Birdsong Lodge — Hotel in Banks Peninsula Community

I stayed at Birdsong with my daughter as a birthday surprise. She had no idea where we were going. We were delighted on arrival by a lovely welcome note on the board welcoming us to Birdsong lodge. My daughter was thrilled, to be staying in the a gorgeous hideaway in the bush. Lots of room we invited a surprise guest who arrived later. We enjoyed a lovely dinner, the warmth of the fire, comfortable beds and we were also delighted to meet our lovely hosts Tanya and Ron. They were so lovely we invited them back to join us for a drink. Was just bliss. Would highly recommend but would definitely stay longer...

We were lucky to spend 3 nights at the lodge. Idyllic! The lodge is well furnished to a high standard, very clean, warm and private. The deck has an excellent hot tub. Off grid, so easy to just relax and listen to the birds, or soak in the tub under the stars. Close to Little River if you need anything and lots of walks, but why would you want to leave! WHAT A HIDDEN GEM!! Being able to stay and enjoy places like this in NZ native bush feels illegal. What an absolutely stunning location that is FAR BETTER THAN THE PHOTOS COULD EVER SHOW!
