We had only intended staying for 3 nights at this Christchurch City Council campsite. But, our towing vehicle decided to break down upon arrival. We checked in, settled down, and were offered by the manager for him to call out a mechanic from Akaroa. The next day, our vehicle was towed away to be fixed. Not the nicest starts to my big birthday. We mentioned that we had intended going to see the dolphins and Giant's House in Akaroa. The manager offered to take us to Akaroa and pick us up later in the day. However, he didn't realise he had prior engagements, so he cancelled the trip, but offered us his car keys, and told us we could use his car.😲❤ This couple have only been managers for a MONTH! They went above and beyond, making us welcome, trusting us with their private car.😍❤Thank you Tracey and your hubby 💐 We had a great time in Duvachelle, we walked from the campsite up over the town roads and hills, exploring the tracks. We walked from the camp to Onawe Pa, and took in the amazing views of Akaroa Harbour. We got a burger meal from the bistro, sorry, not really that nice. Bit plain. The camp is really quiet even when DOC came to practice their boat backing skills, and the little kids cricket game on Saturday. After 5 days of " forced" 🤔 stayed. I can say we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this great place, and would definitely come back again. If it wasn't so far away. It's just beautiful scenery, and...

Having spent 3 weeks touring the South Island in a campervan, we have stayed in a variety of camp sites and can say that Duvauchelle is one of the very best at every level. The drive from Christchurch is not for the faint hearted, which may explain why Duvauchelle is less crowded than many that we have been to. However, it is a hidden gem in a wonderful location situated only a stones throw from the bay and only 15 minutes drive to Akaroa, which is certainly worth a visit. We were given a very warm welcome by Tracy. The Duvauchelle site has a wonderful relaxed open feel with ample space between the pitches. The toilet/showers were close by and spotlessly clean. The showers were well designed enabling you to get dressed easily and comfortably. We didn't use the kitchen or lounge but we're very glad to catch up with washing our clothes. Only comment would be that it would be helpful to have a an estimate of the time for the washers and driers, so that we knew when to return. In summary, great location, friendly reception, good facilities, well managed, excellent...

Incredible kindness and level of service. We are writing this review for the Duvauchelle Holiday Park and their wonderful people. We used their dump station and they were so incredibly friendly. ||The unbelievable level of kindness and service was shown when I left my campervan’s water cap at their holiday park. I called their office and Tracy was able to not only find my cap but also met me in Christchurch, 1.5 hrs away, to give it back to me. She saved my life and was so kind and understanding about it all. ||Not only is the holiday park right in a beautiful bay with amazing sunset views but their level of kindness is something I’ve never experienced at any other holiday park in NZ. Stay here and I’m certain you won’t have...

Loved our stay here, asked for a quiet non powered tent site and they obliged, really appreciated the willingness to accommodate our needs. The tent site was great. We enjoyed the space we had. The only drawback for us was the communual kitchen space, first night wasn't an issue the second night (a Saturday) we couldn't get a look in on some stove top space to cook an omlette, we ended up buying dinner. I would definitely stay again, but perhaps be prepared for not having kitchen space in peak times. Thank you to the managers who run a great place stay.

After staying here as children, my brother and I now visit to stay and go fishing. The location is brilliant, right on the waterfront, with easy access to walks, a boat ramp and even golf. The park itself is superb. We stayed in the tourist flat which was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed in it. Everything was clean and comfortable. The camp staff are outstanding and with us personally, went beyond the call of duty to help us out. I recommend staying here if you like fishing and just nature in general. Fantastic.
