The most standout thing about this campground to me was how clean the entire place was and how friendly the people were, we chose to stay in tents for our stay and there was a lot of site variety to pick and we chose a pretty secluded area that was in the far corner of the holiday park but it was still only a 2 minute walk from the facilities. The bathrooms were super clean, the pool was clean as well, the communal kitchen areas were also very clean and everything was well maintained. The people were really friendly and there was always someone to strike up a conversation with if you wanted to, the location was great with less than 20 minute drives to Keri Keri and Paihia central in the surrounding area. There was also a fire pit by the river that was free for use that was great fun to light up at night and roast marshmallows over, they had fire wood available as there was also a wood fire pizza oven free for anyone to use (so long as you can start it up). I will genuinely be recommending this holiday park to my family and friends as I had such a great experience and stay, and will likely be returning in the future :).

Large rustic campground with everything you need for a nature break. Hosts are friendly and welcoming. Camp is very spacious and we liked that we could choose our own unpowered site. Also appreciate the multiple rubbish bins throughout the park, makes it easy to keep tidy. Heaps of toilets and showers, never had to queue. Kitchen is a bit odd, ample stove tops but they’re all at a very low height... never made dinner sitting down before 😆🤷‍♀️ Free wifi worked well. There’s a pool and river access to keep cool in summer. Facilities are a bit dated but in general the camp is a great value at the kiwi card price. Do note it’s not in walking distance to Paihia, well maybe a very long walk if you’re keen, but unfortunately no trail.

Our third stay at BoI Holiday Park and second time with the caravan. Always enjoy this place in spite of being busy for Easter. The kitchen looked a little tired at the end of season but otherwise ok. One to note for those seeking a powered pitch is that not all spots have accompanying water. Just get to know where they are and be prepared to walk a bit if someone happens to have connected a hose (meaning you can't fill your jug). Just five minutes to the supermarket and eight to Paihia centre. Will very likely return 👍

All I can say is, DO NOT STAY HERE! ||||If you enjoy getting spoken down to, bullied and humiliated infront of a camp site then this is the place for you!!!||||- [x] As soon as you arrive on the campsite you can tell by the atmosphere that everyone is very clicky especially residents and the site owners. ||||Let me start by saying this campsite is practically a building site! The water is undrinkable, the ladies showers are a building site and the showers and toilets that work are filthy, the kitchen that is the 2nd class campers kitchen is horrendous, nothing works and everything is dirty. We actually ended up wasting all our food brought because there wasn’t even an over which we mislead via a very rude telephone call with Jenny. ||||Murray…where to start with this guy! For the past month myself and my partner have travelled NZ and never met a rude local until our last night in the country which was completely ruined by the park’s worker, Murray. Without boring you with the patheticness of this story, Murray watched my partner accidentally put bread into a recycling bin rather than the rubbish bin… rather than approaching our van with a “hey guys just to let you know, the bin you threw you’re rubbish in was recycling but the rubbish bin is just next to it”… but no we got this guys lean up our van, and question why my boyfriend just threw the bread in the recycling, when he tried apologising, Murray proceeded to challenge him and belittle him by stating “it’s written all over the bin”. We’re a young couple in our 20s who he clearly thought he could bully…not to mention that we were his PAYING CUSTOMERS! I’m not sure Murray was very happy when he was challenged about the way he spoke down to us as though we were victims to his bully like behaviour, as he then told us to leave his park but refused to refund us with a “good luck with that” when asked for a refund. ||||It’s clear Murray really really loves his bins as he walks around the site all day long checking them. ||||The behaviour of the workers is shocking and the state of everything on the site is almost as bad!! ||||Avoid this place like the plague, we felt so unwelcomed and personally attacked here! ||It’s completely ruined our trip and we’ve left NZ on a downer because of...

Wish I could give it zero, genuinley don’t know how these new owners have any good reviews. Can Honeslty say it’s the worst site we have been on after travelling the north and south islands extensively. Bathrooms filthy dirty no hooks on doors etc. also we’re not cleaned once during the stay and it was obvious (wet tissues near sinks for duration, tissues on floor and waste in toilets) water was only luke warm not “hot” camp kitchen was beyond words, nothing worked and just plain filthy. Could of dealt with this as we could cook in our own van however Jenny and Murray are the rudest people we had the misfortune of coming across. Attitude on the phone and when checking in. Murray constantly checking what everyone’s doing and left us feeling quite uncomfortable. Made my girlfriend feel especially uncomfortable and came across very creepy. Threatened us for using the wrong bin on accident and spoke to my girlfriend (aged 25) like only a bully would! He humiliated us Infront of other campers trying to enjoy there stay. He Made us feel uncomfortable the whole stay as we didn’t want to be around him. He spoke down to us the whole time whether it was because we were young and he felt he had “power” over us or he is just genuinley not a nice guy. We wanted to leave however he told us “good luck” when asked if we could have a refund and leave. We are not the type to complain at all as we are very open minded however this was our last night in NZ and we felt it had been completely ruined and was such a shame to end our trip on such a bad note. They are both in the wrong industry if they can’t speak to people with respect. The whole bin issue could of been handled so well however Murray chose to be aggressive, entering our van and swearing at my girlfriend. We were both very shook up for the rest of our stay and couldn’t wait to leave unfortunately. I can only hope that this review helps other young couples or infact any other guests steer clear of this site until new management takes over. I am sure management are going to reply to this so I look forward to...
