Hunua Homestead Accommodation — Hotel in Franklin

We stayed in the Railway Cabin at Hunua Homestead last night and we were just blown away! The hosts are awesome and have thought of absolutely every little detail! Right down to some sheep food so we could feed the little guys. ||Glenn welcomed us and was so friendly, telling us all about the farm and where to go/what to do in Hunua. He told us about the railway cars and then when we went inside... ||WOW! What a cute and super romantic spot to stay!! The decor is great! The space so cleverly used, the outdoor bath is amazing under the stars with a glass of bubbles! The ensuite bathroom equipped with quality supplies and the kitchen has everything you need and again, no item spared. ||Right down to the finest of details, everything is covered! This has got to be one of the cleanest, tidiest and well thought out places we have ever stayed at. Even the beautiful blueberry pancakes were orgasmic! ||Hunua Homestead is insanely awesome!! The property was a little hard to find in the dark but google maps got you right there. When we got there Glen and Mark were so nice and inviting! We got there at approx 9:30 PM after traveling around West Auckland all day after arriving in NZ from the states at 6AM. They were so accommodating with letting us check in later than the check in time. All we wanted to do was go to sleep so we did not get to enjoy much of the amenities. We had a nice cozy room with a shared bathroom. They provided soap and lotion and shampoo. We had a great breakfast made to order by Glen the next morning and I got to feed the black sheep. We had a great stay with Glenn and Mark. The Homestead is a tranquil hide-away in a beautiful rural area. It was a wonderful place to relax before and after each full day of V8 racing at Pukekohe. The track is about 20 minutes drive away but some extremely scenic countryside to drive through to get to the track. The cooked breakfasts were superb - a wonderful way to kick start the day (farm fresh eggs used). The room was warm and comfortable. A warm fireplace in the lounge room is a great place to sit and chat with other guests. Very accommodating hosts who are only too happy to assist and make their guests' stay memorable. You would be crazy to miss this...
