From the moment we booked Leanne’s Cubby Farm Stay, we knew it was going to be special—and it truly was. Leanne reached out right away with the most detailed and helpful guide, especially great for international visitors like us, with tips on everything from the farm to saving on groceries and fuel.
She even picked us up from the airport and gave us a mini tour of Kaikoura—such a kind and thoughtful gesture. The stay itself was magical. We got to meet and pat all the farm animals while hearing sweet stories about them, which made the experience so personal and memorable.
The house is clean, cozy, and full of quirky charm, decorated with artwork from past guests. It's fully equipped with everything we needed, from a super well-equipped kitchen (you could even froth your milk and enjoy the farm eggs), to games, a piano, and even torchlights for stargazing in the peaceful farm surroundings.
This wasn’t just a place to stay—it became one of the biggest highlights of our New Zealand trip. Leanne’s warmth and hospitality touched our hearts deeply. We’ll miss this little paradise and will always carry it in a special place...
Read moreThis was by far the highlight of our NZ trip with our daughter, son in law and our grandkids. We loved the cubby house especially the set up and the amenities provided. We were blown away by the amount of food and supplies that were provided. Not only did we get our breakfast supplies but there was a full pantry of every day supplies and also additional items if you wanted to cook a meal. The fridge and freezer was also stocked if you needed it. We cooked our own meal and the amount of cooking equipment provided was more than we have at home. The kids loved all of the board games, the piano and the quirkiness of the house. The view and surroundings was just spectacular. Our host Leanne was amazing, showing us around and everything we needed in the house and also offered to let the kids feed the animals the next day. The kids got to see the chickens and collect eggs, feed the cows and goats and get up close and personal with Trevor the turkey and Freakles and pig and Trouble the baby lamb. We were just so appreciative of how welcoming Leanne and Richard were and we will definitely be back if we are lucky...
Read moreI recently stayed at this house and wanted to share my experience. The classical decor of the house was truly remarkable. The kitchen was well-equipped with a wide range of utensils and condiments. I was pleasantly surprised to find that breakfast ingredients were also provided, including eggs sourced from farm-raised chickens that were exceptionally large. The house itself is spread across two floors and offers a variety of amenities, including a fireplace, a piano, and a chess set. The vintage CD/tape player added to the charm and character of the property. During my stay, I had the pleasure of meeting the two enthusiastic hosts who took us on a tour of their farm animals. We met friendly dogs, chickens, adorable pigs, strange turkeys, goats, sheep, cows, and more. We even got to feed them, which was a fun experience. Overall, I had an amazing time during my stay at your property. The classical decor, well-stocked kitchen, vintage amenities, and thoughtful touches such as breakfast ingredients made my stay truly memorable. Thank Leanne and Richard for providing such an...
