We checked-in at resort's bar what is reception as well. It was very welcoming in so relaxing environment with a lot of comfortable seating inside and outside. |Bar offers good coffee, refreshment and snacks what is very convenient. There is excellent golf pro shop as well. |In spite being earlier than official check-in time they let as in, as our room was ready. The room was clean and specious with amazing view. Bathroom was accessible for wheelchair users ( we didn't need it or asked for) and was very nicely fitted- not sure if all rooms are with the same bathroom category. |Receptionist book dinner for us in the town as we express our interest in testing famous local crayfish. |Highlight of ours stay is playing golf that exceeded our expectation. It is 9 holes course but most of the holes are between 300 and 400 m and course is in excellent conditions. There are golf equipment and electric golf cart for hire and free trundles.|After checking out we wanted to play another round and owner of the resort was very kind and told that we can enjoy playing as long as we want without any charge.|All together very highly recommended venue with excellent...
Read moreMy husband & I stayed there for 2 nights last week, along with 2 friends to have a good catch up. We were happy with the accommodation; the golf course was stunning as were the views. We believe Rachelle Deans review as a similar thing happened to us.The only thing we were not happy with was the incredibly rude way both the Manageress & Manager spoke to my husband over a misunderstanding with charging our electric car. They were incredibly rude, critical & confrontational & not at all professional. All 4 of us heard the way the woman spoke as she came to our door & we were all shocked. Not once during our stay did we get a smile, a "welcome" or even a friendly "hello". Our friends also experienced the Managers abrupt & rude manner. We have never experienced such rudeness or unprofessionalism before when staying at an hotel etc. Would love to go back but they have put us off. The young girl I spoke with on the phone at reception was lovely but twice when I rang to book, a man answered the phone with a blunt "Hullo" only. He sounded...
Read moreHaving stayed at the Koura lodge for the past two nights I'd like to share that this hotel is positioned nicely up on the hill and driving down to town isnt a worry, the rooms are also brilliant. everything's easy to access and the style is very simple yet livable. Upon discovering this hotel I was a little worried that I'd struggle to blend in amongst the golfers, however the staff have been very friendly and I get the feeling that it's not a big deal that I've not played yet, though I do feel welcomed in enough to embarrass myself and give it a good try. Thanks to Rob's kind words and golf tips on the fly. The complimentary breakfast is more than adequate, the view is gorgeous and the on-site bar is fully equipped to provide for a variety of functions. This hotel is a perfect choice if you'd like your stay in Kaikoura to go off without a...
