The good - gorgeous rural location, clean, and a comfortable bed. Not so good - cottages are actually half cottages and tiny (two adjoining studios per 'cottage').... which would have been okay except that our deck's view of the landscape was blocked the entire time by cars parked directly in front - a photography group coming and going (including at 6am - engines idling for ages while they melted the ice on windscreens) who the host had inexplicably put into cottages slightly up the hill with no carparks of their own. I'd urge potential guests to avoid cottages 5 and 6 in case this parking policy is standard - except that you're not even told your 'cottage' allocation until you arrive. We were really looking forward to staying here but our experience was disappointing.

We booked the cottages for one night recently, the staff were so friendly. The room had everything you could of wanted. Bed was so comfortable. It came with a continental breakfast in which we sat on the deck in the sun and had it the next morning, it was beautiful. Amazing scenery! Water pressure was great. We wish we had stayed longer! The Wedderburn pub is walking distance - we didn't eat there as we were at a wedding. Can't wait to visit again.

Stayed here during our Otago Rail Trail cycling holiday. What a beautiful property! Set on a farm, the cottages are immaculate, well equipped and very cute. Bed was extremely comfy which we appreciated after biking for hours. We were welcomed by the lovely Alison. Scenery is stunning and just so peaceful & relaxing. If we weren't doing the biking, we could've easily stayed here a week just to unwind.

Ideal setting, right on the rail trail, spotless, comfortable, cosy, warm, stunning outlook. Everything is thought of here, charging station, in the Red Barn there's information, old photos and newspaper articles about the trail, snacks to purchase, a water filter for replenishing water bottles. We were the only ones staying which was fabulous. A good basic breakfast waiting in the fridge. We loved this no-fuss approach, all the important things (to our minds anyway) were flawless. I don't need to be greeted, after riding some hours it was lovely to arrive to everything waiting but being able to just deal with it ourselves.||The shower was excellent, as was the bed. Coming around the final corner of the days ride, it was wonderful to arrive to such a lovely secluded spot. The pub steps away added to the experience. Laying on the bed looking out at that view, then siting on the deck in the morning having breakfast will stay with me...

Could there be a more beautiful view to wake up to?! Our stay at the Wedderburn Cottages was a delight! The charming exteriors are perfectly matched with the modern and stylish interiors, warm and well equipped - such a wonderful spot to relax after a day of cycling! Speaking of, lots of parking for bikes and a great system for charging batteries for those of us with e-bikes. The breakfast provided in our room was plentiful, and the proximity to the Wedderburn Tavern is ideal! Would love to take one of these little cottages home with me… or at least come back for...
