Amazing DOC campsite in a stunning location only available for self contained campers as the facilities are minimal but the location totally compensates for the lack of typical amenities available in other holiday parks/campgrounds. One of the few DOC campsites that allow pets. The most beautiful bay along the Gisborne coast is a stone throw away. As serene and calm as it is remote. Loved every minute of our stay here.

Beautiful spot and fully booked around New Years. 6kms off the main road and surrounded by bush and farmland. On either side of the campground are endangered Dotterell nesting sites which are prone to disturbance from beach goers unaware of their existence. There are DOC signs but fencing is probably needed to protect them. The camp is well equipped with essential goods and services. Friendly staff.

Kia kaha Anaura Bay Motor Camp! A lovely place, friendly staff (Kahu, Diane and the whānau are trying hard to keep things going smoothly), not crowded early in the season and most campers reasonably considerate of others, not that everyone cleans up after themselves. Some guests could do with a toilet brush 101🤮

Wow what can I say about Anaura Bay! Incredible! We traveled the whole East Cape and this was the best placed we stayed. Just feet from the water. Awesome sunrises in the morning. Great swiming. No cell phone reception there. About the only downside is the water is from tanks and needs to be boiled... that said it looked like...
