We had a lovely week here. Lorraine and Gerald are so friendly and helpful. Our accommodation was lovely. There are two self catering units, one is a studio and the one we had was two bedrooms. Ours was incredibly well kitted out, our own washing machine, an outside line, an airer, iron and ironing board, full sized cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities, including a cafetière. The cupboards are full of everything you could possibly need for self catering. There is also a tv, dvd/video player (with a selection of films). ||The day after our arrival, Gerald told us there was going to be a lawnmower race with about 30 people arriving to take part. Unfortunately, there was a torrential downpour, so we didn’t get to see it but my partner had a private demonstration a few days later!||This property is situated on ten acres of land and has been carefully planned to give both self catering units a lot of privacy and their own parking. Apart from cars going up and down the dead end road, all you can hear is birdsong. We found it an incredibly relaxing place to be.||The nearest big supermarket is a Countdown, just a 10 minute drive away, with a fuel station next to it. There is also a fresh food shop half a mile away, with a lovely coffee shop attached, called The Black Stump.||While here, we visited Paihia, Whangerai Falls, Whale Bay, Packard Museum and Kiwi North (saw our first kiwi here). We found that we were within fairly easy driving distance of the places we wanted to visit.||If we ever come back to New Zealand, we would definitely come back. The bar is set high for the rest of the properties we...
Read moreWow! What a delightful location! Upon our arrival, we received a warm welcome from Gerald & Lorraine, who graciously made us feel right at home. They provided us with invaluable insights into the area, including recommendations for the best dining spots. Our accommodation was impeccable - a beautifully presented room, spacious, spotlessly clean, complete with a magnificent en-suite bathroom. Breakfast offered a satisfying continental spread, with a diverse selection of fruits and cereals to choose from. Nestled within approximately 10 acres of land, the property is conveniently situated just a short drive from Whangarei and the stunning waterfalls. It serves as an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area. Without a doubt, one of the finest B&B experiences I've had the pleasure of enjoying. I wholeheartedly endorse this establishment. You won't be...
Read moreThis property offers a lot from the B & B in the main house to a 2 Bed cottage and a 1 Bed cottage which is what we stayed in.||The property is about 10 mins from Tipipunga, a little bit longer from Whangarei town. Which ever cottage you choose you are very private as hedges make then quite secluded.||Our cottage was very clean and had all the basic things you would want microwave, a small oven, fridge and washing machine. A nice comfortable lounge and a table for 2, outside on the deck was more table and chairs even a small clothes line.||Bed was comfy and it was nice to have the block out blinds. Bathroom was very compact but ok for a couple of nights. ||Lorraine and Gerald are great hosts, they are there if you need anything but are definately not intrusive. This is a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay and can highly recommend...
