We come from the city so when we get away we like to go rural and preferably on a working farm, the historic Shearers Quarters was an amazing get away, the farm animals especially the horses were so friendly and were always around and I mean very closely around which made this experience absolutely awesome for the kids. The hosts were just lovely, friendly and full of interesting conversation, I personally would return in a heart beat and HIGHLY recommend this...

Cosy stopover between Auckland Wellington! Highly recommend.

Quiet, warm, clean, scenic views for days, starry night skies, cute farm animals… perfect hosts too. Family run, operating for many years but still a hidden gem.

Good stopover if you’re driving across the North Island. Just few mins off state hwy.

Also a perfect base to get offline/ in nature for a few days but still have some...

This is, as the name suggests, an old shearers accommodation facility, very nicely done up, quite a remote location. This was a perfect stop for us at the beginning of our cycle trip. We had a fantastic home cooked meal made with almost entirely farm and local produce. Extremely warm and...

The setting is amazing with the owners so friendly and lovely..This place is surrounded by good swimming spots and hiking trails..an excellent place to wind down from city life.
